Out of Spec Dave had the same problem with a manual flap. They had the issue charging at a Porsche dealership and this how it was solved Yours may be the same problem.
Thank you for your kind comment! It might be a similar problem, although it seems like something the dealer needs to tamper with unless I want my warranty to be void, haha!

My Macan has manual flaps. My passenger side charge flap wouldn’t open a few months back. The Porsche service manager showed me how to open it with a bit of a hack. Basically you pry open the exterior cover - just be careful not to scratch paint. He used a plastic screw driver. Once the flap cover is removed, flap door mechanism is exposed and you can wiggle it to easily open the flap door. It seemed weird but he had me do it once while he was watching and it was simple enough. They even let me keep the plastic screw driver with me in case I needed it again. Surprisingly it never got stuck again.

In hindsight, should have made a video of how to do this while at the dealership.

Firstly, thank you for your kind comment and taking your time. Although, I do think that the driver seat flap with DC-charing have another mechanisms and is thicker, so it might be different. But, anyway I wouldn’t be able to accept that since it is the side with DC-charging. I can’t get stuck with my wife and children in the middle of nowhere just because I don’t have a plastic screw driver..

All Macan EVs are keyless entry.

Did Porsche dealership not help you open your DC flap?
Uhm.. No they are certainly not, haha! Keyless entry and air suspension is not standard in Europe! Maybe that is specifically for the US, but US isn’t the whole world ;)

No, not yet.. They gave me a loaner until Monday (when the service crew starts working), so we will see!

Correct — the US is not the whole world. But our car packages sure try to act like they are.

Maybe, but they just add it to the base price anyway so it feels better for US customers. It is something that apparently is “a must standard” for your market in that price range. I’ve had tons of loaners and also seen different cars in stock and basically only the turbo or an occasional 4S has ordered comfort access, so it really is a difference.

Prices in Sweden seem to be much higher than US. Base Macan EV is listed as 960000 KR, which is around $100,000 USD. In the US, base Macan EV starts at $78,000 (around $84,000 after taxes). Haven’t compared features but if US base models have better features, US customer is getting a much better deal, no?

That might be true! Not sure if your prices include taxes? Can’t figure out the prices in the US sometimes :)

That’s why I included the price for you with taxes. Also, in the US, most dealerships will lower the price to make the sale on certain models. Does that happen in Sweden? 10% off is not unusual.

I had the same problem with my manual charge door. After walking away and letting the car fully turn off and then coming back to turn it on again, the door opened for me.

I would bet the issue has to do with the interlock mechanism that locks one charge port door after the other one is opened. Also it locks both charge port doors when the vehicle is locked. I might suggest pushing on the charge port door firmly, but not too hard while locking and unlocking the vehicle thinking that it’s pinched.

It will be interesting to hear what the dealership says.

So the problem cropped up for me again. Drivers side only would not open. Took it to the dealer and they indicated it was an electronic problem where the locking mechanism Han idk wouldn’t release. Not sure what they did to fix it but it was a dealer repair.
