Aaand now my right door doesn't open anymore. Perfectly sunny day although it is -12 C. I unplugged the car, tested the door a few times and it was fine. I checked the door, the connector etc. There was no ice or snow, just one small, dry leaf that I removed. After a 1 hour drive, the door does not open. It will be -33C this weekend, I guess I can't use the car because I can't charge it. Car was designed by amateurs. We all love how it drives...but I can't drive it if I can't charge it.

Quick update: I left the car in my brother's heated garage over night (around 10-12 Celsius in the garage) but the charge doors still do not open. My Porsche dealer will schedule an appointment late next week but I don't think I will have enough charge to make it. Fun times.

Hi.

couldn’t agree more: love to drive my Macan 4, but can’t if I can’t charge it!

as said before, and am sure most hate me for saying it, Porsche is global leader in ICE engine, transmission, suspension, aerodynamics . Novice for a smartphone on wheels šŸ˜³šŸ˜±šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«šŸ«ØšŸ¤£

When placing factory order specs, I purposely ordered manual charge port doors thinking naively that if I couldn’t open electric auto open charge port doors with a dead battery then I’d be dead.

I too experienced charge port doors that wouldn’t open.

Dealership advised it was a malfunction included on a Porsche software update

I didn’t think that when we lock our cars, the features include electrically locking manual charge port doors too…. šŸ¤”šŸ˜‰

had enough charge to drive to dealer and got loaner. Software update due for my car also fixed my inoperable manual charge ports both sides.

suggest you contact dealership and have software checked.

best wishes.

Seems to be a common problem. Not related to temperature, but some parts issue.
See in this review at about the 15 minutes mark where the Porsche Tech had to come out to open it.

Get your Porsche Center to fix it ASAP.

If I would be Porsche, I would be very embarrassed.

Hi Folks, I confirmed it's a mechanical issue. The left door stopped opening yesterday all of a sudden. I charged with the right door no problem. Stupid me, I decided to try to get the left door opened just now by pressing it in and locking/unlocking. Now the right door does not open while my previous trick for the left door did not work. So there is a mechanical issue where the left door does not open, but the car thinks it is (without displaying any messages) and keeps the right door locked. The closest appointment is Feb 9 so I will need to limit my driving until then. And my rear hatch is rattling worse then ever, although it might be the rear wing as I can rattle it with my hand. I think I have spent more time in a Macan ICE courtesy car than mine.

No need to wait until then. The head of the service department gave me a tip in case you ever need to open it manually. You can gently press with your fingertips on the inside of the painted part of the charging door and remove it. Inside, there’s a small latch you can press that forces the port open, basically like an emergency release.

If it’s a mechanical fault, it will usually stop working again once you close it back up.
