Currently sailing on LAKE WAKATIPU ship to Baltimore and have some questions...
1. Ship expected to make a stop in Davisville RI on July 25, but there is no tracking (at least for free) available on when it will arrive into port Baltimore MD. Dealer tracking is showing August 1, but it can be as late as August 8.
I wonder if anyone had this type of journey and can share how long it took for the ship to get to Baltimore and then arrive to the dealership.
2. US cars have 2 things that I was able to handle on the Taycan so wonder if anyone did these mods.
- Replace Orange front side markers with Clear for clean Euro look.
- Remove "monkey butt" which is the cladding around the license plate for clean Euro look.
The intended look and I was able to achieve that on the Taycan.
3. Exterior PPF plan is to PPF the entire front, mirrors, special windshield film, etc.
- I did PPF my Taycan headlights and had no issues but did anyone PPF Macan EV headlights (top and bottom) and can report any issues.
- I will be tinting front windows only, so usually I go for 20% XPEL, anyone else did the tint with intent to match the rears and what they used. I have Thermal Glass so it adds about 2% so overall will be 18%.
4. Interior Protection as I have all these areas protected on the Taycan that came as a screen protection kit.
- Could anyone recommend the best place to buy screen protectors for the main curved screen, PCM screen, and rear climate screen.
- Could anyone recommend if there is a film for the front climate console
5. I do my own Pollen Filter replacement on the Taycan using PureFlow 4 layer filter superior to OEM.
- Did someone clearly figure out what 3rd party filter to get and step by step procedure to access and replace the filter.
6. Otherwise, Suncoast to the rescue for simple things like Black/Color tire valve covers, Key side blades to match car exterior, then the dealer will be asked to provide for no cost: Carpeted Trunk mat and All Weather Mats.
- Anything else I should be asking to be included at no cost.
7. Last thing to anyone with 2026 that I am anxious to learn about with no reviewers online taking time to learn and demo these:
- Driver Awareness: is this intrusive?
- Trained Parking to travel backwards during remembered path
- Active Parking for use in parking garages
- Remote Parking by controlling the car from outside
- Curb Warning to protect the wheels
I may not be using the Parking tech but I am the kind who must know how to use anything that I have.
Realistically, there is no way I am parking in a narrow space between 2 cars anywhere.
8. Things I know I will have to deal with:
- No way to customize and save settings in Normal mode, so only Sport and Sport+ modes can be saved, and no Individual mode as in Taycan J1.1 and MacanICE.
- Car goes into ready to drive mode, even if unlocked, when you open the door and key detected. I do not mind when car is locked and you get in and it is ready to go (Taycan), but if car is unlocked and I open the door (Taycan) it does not start into ready to go mode, which is perfect and logical as you need to go back and get things when you arrived home, for example.
