Rear Glass damaged. Not repairable. Needs replacement.
Geico Tells me i have a deductible of $50. (Sounds good so far)
Here it comes.
The dealer wants about $1500 for the new glass and about $1500 for labor.
Geico says they will only pay labor at max $40/hour. (Not a dealership price)
Geico charges more in Insurance for the Porsche but when it comes to payments... no such thing.

Did this happened to anyone and how can this be rectified?

That should be specified in your policy fine print. Some insurance companies offer options, anywhere from full price/no deductible to self pay. Some stipulate use of their glass contractor.

I think you’re getting double scammed.
Dealer: 3 hrs to change the screen, put 6 hrs (just to be sure) x 250/hr = 1500
Insurance: How much does VW charge per hr? 200-250? right, ok put 40 for Porsche.
Can think of many scammy professions and dealers/insurers are definitely up there😁
50 deductible on a Porsche screen means anything over a sneeze = new screen time $$$$

Are you able to a 3rd party buy OEM glass and install?

What state are you in? $50 deductible for glass seems generous (even under some magical situation where they’d actually honor it).

I had my front windshield repaired. I had a similar discussion as I wanted my Porsche dealer to do it. Same thing with the $40/hour maximum on labor. Geico said I could have Safelight do it, their preferred shop, and use original Porsche glass and it would be all included under my policy, minus the deductible. Safelight did a wonderful job. I think it’s the same everywhere. I suggest you use their preferred contracted company and demand “OEM” glass (original equipment manufacturer).

Safelight won't use OEM glass in Massachusetts. They replaced my windshield on my Q7 with "OEM quality" glass. They broke the camera trying to recalibrate it. I took it to the Audi dealership and they wanted 2000 for the windshield and 2700 to replace the camera. I ended up trading the car in on a Mercedes.
