Guys, in my opinion you are overthinking it. There are so many charging stations all over the place that focusing on range at different speeds is a moot point.

Can you outdo the spec if you tried? Definitely. Would it be worth it? In my opinion no. I'd rather enjoy my espresso longer while charging than spend any effort on squeezing range.

As for my driving style, would hardly let speed drop below 130km/h on highways, mostly in the 140-150km/h range. Sport on longer journeys, Sport+ on shorter with no rear passengers (suspension becomes too stiff).

Best countries to enjoy driving in Europe are Germany & Italy.

Worst countries to enjoy driving in Europe are Switzerland (by far) & Greece.

Recoup is on all the time. Charging planner does the rest.

You've obviously never tried charging in the Highlands of Scotland - finding a wild Haggis would be less of a challenge!

Or across parts of Wyoming, South Dakota, and Nevada. 200+ mile gaps between good chargers in some spots. We do a lot of 1500-3000 miles trips.

But yes, most road trip routes are better covered. We worry more about the challenging routes, but most are just fine.

Would love to hit the great plains in my Porsche!

If there is a route worth the drive north and under the Channel let me know! Running out of routes in Europe :)
NC500 (maybe) but West Coast in general.

It must really be quite some time now since you last visited my country...!!In fact Greece have one of the best fast and ultra fast charging infrastructure if we exclude the central & western European countries, with almost 4.000 charging points and over 9.000 chargers.Italy you referred to has nearly 6 times that number and has a population almost 5 times Greece so numbers and sizes ate quite proportional. There are plenty of chargers and superchargers available literally in every city irrelevantly its size, counting from dozens to hundreds and more than 1.000 in Athens only.Even the most visited villages and of course every tourist destination have enough charging points for everyone's needs.
And most of all the prices are most likely if not the cheapest definitely one of the cheapest ones accros Europe with 36-40€/kWh for slower 22kW chargers and 56-60€/kWh for the fast & superfast ones. Adittionaly, there is almost none charger doesn't working and the apps & RFID cards of every provider works flawlessly.
I guess you never tried to cross central Balkan countries with your EV on the way from Greece to central Europe using the famous "Friendship highway" through Northern Macedonia & Serbia (which BTW is excellent as a highway) where the charging infrastructure is of the previous decade in terms of chargers availability especially on the road itself. Most of the times one must drive 10ths of Kms away from the main highway only to find that the charger he was intending to use is out of order and not delivering or the app wasn't working either. As for superfast chargers... that's another sad story, I doubt there are more than a handful working and of course only in the Northern part of the country 550 Km away from Greek borders.
I would be very pleased if Bulgaria had a way better charging network than Greece until next winter as I plan to skip North Macedonia and travel through your country to Serbia (directly to Nis) via Dragoman where are the only fast chargers available for this route and I hope they will be working so I won't be left stranded 330Kms away from home!

Cheers!

Last summer, I drove from London to France, Switzerland and Italy.
Switzerland had the best roads, like carpets and zero noise. I was so impressed.

To be fair, my expectation is that there's a pub with a pint and a haggis every 3 miies or so.

On the contrary, I visit quite often and enjoy it every time. But...my issue is not the charging infrastructure (although Thessaloniki leaves a lot to be desired); it's the overall condition of the roads (width, elevation, markings, abrupt lane endings/constant lane converges, stoplights in the middle of nowhere, very short on/off ramps) and drivers (we'll get there when we get there), specifically in the northern part.

As for Serbia, I go through it at least once per month with my EVs, as you said it is "excellent as far as highway". They do lack charging infra, but once you plan it out its rinse and repeat. At least I can get from A to B fast!

As for Switzerland, its the total opposite, excellent roads, excellent infra, terrible drivers and terrible speed limits with ridiculously expensive fines for everything. Might as well ride a bicycle through it...

In the UK our looow speeds in cities is often 20 MPH :D
I don't remember what the speed there was on the motorways, but driving through Furka Pass was one of the highlights.
