Front windshield weatherstripping - discolored and deteriorating

Is anyone else having problems with the front windshield weatherstripping on their Macan? Mine is only about a year old, and the strips on both sides of the windshield are already discolored and starting to deteriorate. It looks terrible. Curious if this is a common issue or if I just got unlucky.

Sorry. That looks terrible. Our 2024 put into service the first week of August last year, still has its windshield weatherstripping looking brand new. Does your MACAN sit under a tree with sap or experience unusual conditions such as acid rain? I treat mine (and all the exterior plastic) once every 4 months with Griot’s Ceramic All In One Wax:

But perhaps yours was a defective product from day one and Porsche needs to replace it under warranty. Good luck one way or the other.

Wow. I just went out to double-check mine. Took delivery of my 24 Macan 4 EV in September last year.

It spent several months in the sun during the spring and summer for our home remodel. It still looks factory-fresh.

Ask your dealer. Something's definitely not right here.

I’ve just been reading the manual (I know, hand in my man card on the way out). I noticed there’s a set of requirements for windscreen washer fluid including that it should be Phosphate-free.

I have no idea whether that is related to the problem. Both the bottles in my garage are just dilute methyl alcohol so probably not an issue but thought it was interesting.
