Front hood lock jammed

Hi. I have a 2025 Macan 4S and just returned from a mountain trip here in Norway. Want to unload the car and hear the electronic sound from the lock, but hood won’t open. I get an alarm and a red warning lights up in the dash (picture says in Norwegian: fault on front lock, OK to drive, service needed). Anyone had same problem, and is there an mechanical back-up?

Are you in a heated garage now? It might have frozen, and might come back after thawing a bit?

In garage now. But It can’t be the reason. The weather was above freezing point the last two hours.

Performing emergency release of the front hood

If the starter battery is discharged, the front hood can only be released with the help of an external battery with 12 V nominal voltage.
See chapter “On-board battery“

1. Press plastic cover A (Fig. 1) on the upper edge of the bumper until it releases.
2. Pull the plastic cover out of the bumper. The electric cables of the emergency power supply are fastened to the lid.
3. Remove protective covers from the negative terminal - and positive terminal +.
4. First connect the negative cable - and then the positive cable + of the external battery to the corresponding terminals of the emergency power supply.
5. Press and hold the button
   
   on the vehicle key for about two seconds.

6. Hold the mobile device with the Porsche Digital Key or Digital Key Card to the door handle of the driver’s door (NFC function).
   The front hood is unlocked and opens slightly.
7. Disconnect the negative cable - and then the positive cable + for the external battery.
8. Slide protective covers on positive terminal + and negative terminal -.
9. Push plastic cover A (Fig. 1) back into the bumper until it clicks into place.
10. Swivel the securing hook away to the left using a suitable tool and lift the front hood.

Tested - not working. Service is ordered on Thursday.

If you can hear the solenoid moving but the frunk is not opening then the safety lock is probably not retracting (see step #10).

The hood is not moving at all, so I can’t reach the safety lock as described in step #10. It has to be a mechanical failure to the main lock/solnoid. The sound is right, but nothing happens.
