Im a newbie to the Forum so hope I dont get many negative comments on my build that Ive just given to my dealer - ;). He‘s hoping for a slot in April so I promised to not make too many ongoing changes. It’s a UK build and code PTKVFXK7. The main thing is that I was a bit nervous about the 22” Sport wheels but I went for the air suspension and I did test drive one and seemed fine (just going to avoid UK potholes). However I didnt go for the GTS (love the look) as feedback told me that I might find that ride a bit too stiff. I just saw in this forum that there is a LUX pack/bundle that would have got me the LED lights upgrade but think that’s NOT available in the 4S - just asked my dealer if this is possible! Anything I should add/change? Thanks in advance

Thanks, my wallet told me to stop ticking more options lol. It’s addictive. Tempted with the clock though and already added the full sports design kit $$

Lovely build
I regret not optioning drive assist

I drive a Turbo on 22” on normal mode but chassis level set as low. I find the ride to be fine - albeit I accept that’s subjective - so I wouldn’t discount the GTS particularly as it’s probably only £1-2k difference.

Thanks, I also liked the idea of the Turbo vs GTS and better ride and more power (than I probably need lol). I’m coming from a 2023 Panamera that I really liked but wanted to switch to a fully electric so I could run it though my company (Tax benefit) The Macan was the best option. I really wanted a 911 but at 59 years old I found that too hard a ride (for me). I get nervous of choosing a car that id find stiff and my dealer recommended against the GTS (so I replicated the spec bar the extra power) even though similar money with the high residuals or he thought a Turbo would be a better ride.

Your panamera looks stunning, I prefer your choice of wheels on the Macan however!

Do you have the active suspension on your Panamera? Allegedly a game changer

Thanks and yes I prefer the wheels on the macan. It was a very smooth ride but was the gen (972) pre the introduction of the active ride (£6,000) which is amazing…

Logic dictates that the larger the rim size then the less rubber you have between you and the road and leads to a perceived decrease in ride quality.

Air suspension can help but doesn't disguise the issue such as Porsche Active Ride might so bear that in mind.

Pretty sure you would not be be too disappointed with either GTS or Turbo offering very similar handling and comfort on either 21" or 22" rims.

Try other Macan EVs with these rim options to get an idea or test drive at your dealership as all must have a demo GTS car by now (most appear to have 22") or shortly.

Personally I would go GTS 21" and suspect the downside of the 22" wheels will be tramlining depending on road surface.

Roads in UK are at best poor which again would sway my decision.

thanks for the sound and logical advice.

I did try the 22s on a “4S” test drive and couldn’t tell the difference with my Panamera that I was happy with. Hadn’t tried the GTS (and now travelling so can’t get to try one) which has a much firmer setting so my dealer advised I would be likely more happy to stick with the 22s on another new 4S. I love the look of the 22 sport wheels vs any of the 21s so going to run with the ordered 22s. My dealer also lent me a new 911 (which I loved the look of) but within minutes I knew I couldn’t live with the stiff ride! So I think the 4S should be ok (I hope). I might try another 4s testdrive (with 22s) when I get back to make sure my memory of the previous test drive is accurate. I could always switch the order to 21s although that would delay my build. Thanks

Beautiful Panamera, so I see you are trying to replicate the theme to Macan EV. Let me provide some feedback having driven many examples for days trying to dial in my own build.

- 22 inch is a nonstarter if you want comfort, try a rough local road or highway 80mph. Air Suspension will not help you. For the theme, suggest going with the 21 inch off road wheels, but understand that none but 22 inch is the choice for the look.

- 14-way seats are flat with no lateral support and in my view harder than the 18-way, so recommend trying the 18-way that would be softer with side bolsters not too big for entry/exit. My point is that 14 vs. 18 are not the same from model to model. 14-way do have massage, but you did not check that.

- No Drive Assist means you will not get active lane keep (ALK) the biggest regret from all who did not select it.

- Looks like you are really trying not to have fun with No to a GTS, Sports Chrono, and PTV+ but it is good to have choices.

I have a 992 and to compare with a Macan EV is not advisable - completely different proposition entirely.

If it helps I had a Taycan 4S (air, RAS and 20") followed by a Taycan GTS ST (PTV, air, RAS, 21" Spyders). The GTS was superior in every way and could I tell the difference in ride due to wheel size, no is the honest truth.

Personally, I think you are missing a trick not opting for the GTS (more desirable) but hey ho.

I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever you choose.

Thanks for your feedback. I started my Porsche Journey with a Taycan GTS but bailed on that build (3 years ago) when public range anxiety and opted for a safer Panamera e-hybrid. Realy enjoyed that but feel i dont want such a big car anymore but still want a comfortable but sporty ride. I suppose ride quality is a subjective thing. I really enjoyed the brief testdrive on the 4S (on 22s) and didnt feel too much different to my Panamera - not quite as planted but certainly not bumpy. Much to my BIG disappointment, however i certainly, and instantly, disliked the ride comfort (& dahsboard rattles) on the 911 which i had always aspired to own. So i feel safer with the 4S on 22s (for aesthetics) vs the GTS which is built to have a much stiffer suspension set up. Thanks again for your word of caution and im goig to arrange a test drive of both the 4S and GTS asap and i can always bail on that deal too, if need be.
