I suggest you purchase the plastic trim removal tool as shown in the video (much better than using pliers, etc.), remove the filter and take a picture of the part number. You can then hunt down the same filter as Audi or OEM part at a good saving.
But why hunt down a 3rd party filter? I stand by my advice I already gave you above (and other members did as well), get the proper tools (so you don't break anything, pull the filter, mark the part no. which is 85E819439B and get it from Audi for half (or whatever Porsche tax is today). You're driving a cooler Q6 e-tron (much to the dismay of forum members).

Because it appears in Canada, Q6 e-tron parts are not available. And Sergey said third party filters are better? But at this point I will take whatever I can get. I'd even consider buying it from Porsche themselves if they would allow me to buy the part by itself. They keep giving me a quote for labour with it. I'm like, I don't want labour, I just want the part!

How will you update the app once you’ve changed the filter?

I’ll just tell them I changed the filter and ask them to reset it. It won’t take more than a minute for them to reset. If they refuse to reset, then we will have a problem and I will complain 🤣

Isn't this one of the maintenance items that you can reset in SmartService on PCM?

I've previously done this on my Taycan for wiper blades.

“Audi” part is 35usd.
Audi sells the q6 e-tron in Canada

Yes, I just found out that’s how they do it. So I can do it moving it forward whenever I change the filter. I ended up buying the filter from the dealership. Gave up trying to look for it elsewhere for now, since they had it in stock and I could do it immediately. Cost me $158.19 after taxes. Pretty crazy price for a filter that probably cost like $10 to make.

Out of interest how old is your car?

I've never replaced a cabin filter in years - wiper blades yes - should be good for several years. Perhaps your Smart Service date was set incorrectly as it feels somewhat premature.

About 16 months. You’re supposed to change it every year if you want to breathe clean air. I’m already late because I wanted to do it myself and it took me a bit of time to get off my ass to figure it out and do it.
I finally changed it today. The Smart Service is set to change cabin filter once it reaches 30,000km or two years, whichever comes first. Most people only drive about 15,000km/year I guess. But I drive a lot and rack up mileage quickly.

The biggest challenge for me was locating a place to buy the filter. It seems I can only buy at Porsche or Audi here in Canada. Can’t find a retailer that sells the model that we require, which is the Mahle 85E819439B.

Mahle is one of the largest German OEM suppliers for VAG/BMW/etc. mainly know for their filters.
SP856002 is the MAHLE part no.
85E819439B is the Audi (VAG) part no.
This filter only fits the PPE platform, so far Q6/A6 etrons & Macan that’s why you couldn’t find 3rd party suppliers yet, PPE platform is relatively new and compared the hundreds of models that fit other filters PPE market is restricted to 3 niche EV models.
Porsche normally would have MAHLE print their own Porsche part no. / logo on the filter / box so that the dealer could charge you 2-3-x times the price of the “Audi” filter but couldn’t be bothered for the PPE platform that’s why the price was the same, still they saw you coming, sells for 35usd in the US.

When I searched for the MAHLE part number it says it’s not available in Canadian inventory listings. Even though there are MAHLE filters for sale here, that particular one is not available. It’s crazy how hard it is to get these here. And it’s being sold at such inflated prices at both Audi and Porsche. Well I have 6-12 months to find it before I need to change it again. Hopefully I’m able to acquire them elsewhere at a more fair price.

AI is not your friend and certainly never on the first search in my experience. Dive deeper into it and use the OEM part # PAD 819 439.

Next time around maybe -

FR Sport CDN $42.01 (still pricey compared to UK / elsewhere - ÂŁ17) - Wix Cabin Air Filter for Macan EV or from Parts Avatar (Canada)

So the thing about the search results, it doesn't change the more tries you do. You can change the search words, but based on my location, the results will mainly be the same. When I do the same search words you used which was PAD819439 in Canada, this is what I see. Doesn't even have a 2nd page. First link says it's an ebay reseller for US$91.88 plus it's out of stock.

The second link EuroSport Tuning, it's not only out of stock, it's discontinued.

Basically, all but 1 of the results that pop up for me were ebay resellers from the US trying to make a profit off the filters.

So you see, it's hard to obtain these filters in Canada, unless I find an online store that ships globally, but I think shipping still won't be cheap, and may end up being about the same price.

I wonder if there is an European retailer that ships to Canada.

BTW, I did look at Parts Avatar, and they don't have it. However, the Wix filter looks promising. That appears to be available. So thank you for that link!

Some of the alternatives manufacturer part numbers listed are actually incorrect. As an example, the Mann CUK2450 is for the ICE Macan, as its shape is not rectangular.

Once I refined the search to only include exact matches to PAD819439 and exclude ICE Macan results, I found this site https://www.oemproparts.ca/oem-parts/porsche-cabin-air-filter-pad819439 which sells it for $93.44, which is still expensive, but more reasonable.

You didn't fully review the screenshots. There are two queries where the 2nd refines the search.

Stock exists as the links provided confirm. Did you not click these - they are on bold text with readable URLs?

This is a generic part used in a wide range of Audis (not just EVs) and as the Macan EV is related to the Q6 etron it is listed also.

Easy enough to find in your home country if not prepared to source from USA. OEM - https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/95cpollen.html
