Dealer versus insurer versus DVLA

I thought this, but there isn’t an option as I recall to have a factory fitted tracker unlike with other models?

Has this changed at all where there’s some after sales option of them switching on technology?

PVTS+ is the factory option.

You will have received 2 driver cards / fobs with the car which require activation via a subscription. Service is managed by Vodafone.

I had this on a cayman but can't see the option box (and as a result didn't option it) on the configurator for the Macan.

The Porsche Vodafone tracker is a dealer option not factory. You pay the dealer to supply & fit and then Vodafone for the annual subscription.

Ok so a few things have changed (poorly communicated if at all) and can be model dependent.

As an exercise I thought I'd setup my 911 which doesn't currently have PVTS / PVTS+ active or specified (still waiting on dealer to send the cards BUT I don't think they're required now on MY25 onwards).

The only place that this can be established is at this website:

https://pcc.automotive.vodafone.com/cwp/private/assetList.do

Once registered (free) you will then be given an 8-digit code for each car you have. This code is then given to your dealer who will then activate the service (and provide cards / fobs if needed - looks like that idea is being dropped which is a good thing). This will complete the process and then you'll start paying the subscription. The hardware is already built in whether you use it or not.

I don't require the service so won't proceed but perhaps you can give it a try to see if this gets you what you are after.
