Warranty service at dealership vs Porsche Assistance

I just tried to book a service appointment to get my Macan doors fixed as the driver's one doesn't close 50% of times I "normally" try to close and I also have rattles in one the speaker (standard ones).

The dealership called me to say that it will take months for them to find the time...but that I can call Porsche Assistance, telling them I am not comfortable with the car issue and they'll come today to bring it to them...

Surely this is a way for them to make more money from Porsche right? Does anyone have any insights on how this works?

I got fed up with my local Porsche dealer not having slots for my Taycan (Bristol) service guys great but dealership totally under resourced. I got so p’ d off after 3 years of issues I have sold and bought a Macan from another dealership- the service is very variable - and not what I would expect if I owned a Fiat . Porsche customer services aren’t great either.

Appreciate this is an old thread but essentially assistance is funded via Porsche AG (year one) and Porsche GB (year two and three) as afar as I’m aware, so outside of the dealer network. As you suggest, I’d imagine they are also on a preferential rate for these warranty/service items.

If a car needs to be recalled to the nearest dealer then there’s strict SLA’s to hit including provision of other vehicles. My understanding is that is if the vehicles isn’t fixed with three days then the dealer has to pay for the hire car, to encourage the cars getting repaired.

had a similar experience with my BMW M4. BMW said it would be six weeks, called assist and they were looking at it the same day and I was provided with another vehicle for a week.
