Is it me or the cruise control on these German cars (EV Macan 4) are counter logic? I’m used to the very practical cruise control located on the right side of the stirring wheel, which is located at the right spot versus the “wand” that’s on the lower left side and interferes with the signal control…. I am having a hard time getting used to that location… Is it only me?

Each to their own. For me the Porsche setup is my favourite and keeps the wheel button count lower. (And that’s not saying you’re wrong, obvs, just that I like the stalk way more than the button way)

I think it’s just what you are used to. I’ve been driving German cars for so many years, that I can’t imagine any other way. I actually don’t even remember where some of the controls were on my previous non German cars (Acura, Lexus, Honda). Lol

I've driven several kinds. Honestly, my son's Polestar, with buttons on the left side of the steering wheel for cruise control and distance, is the one that works best for me. The Porsche stalk is fine, although I sometimes accidentally grab that instead of the blinker stalk.

Every car I have owned has had the cruise control stalk on the left below the turn signal stalk. That includes German, Japanese and US-made cars.
I appreciate your experience, but not for me.... Japanese (Acura, Mazda, Honda), SKorean (Genesis), American (Ram) cars have always been located on the right side of the steering wheel... hence my issue with the "wand" on the left which interferes with the signal control. 🥺

This was my first with a driver assistance stalk. All others, including our Solterra use the steering wheel. It took me several weeks to adjust, but now switching between them is fine. It is much like going between a mouse and touchscreen.

On our 2019 Acura RDX the cruise control function is located on the right side of the steering wheel. It's really intuitive and super easy to adjust without much thought. I much prefer this set up.

Right would be more intuitive to me as well. My bigger issue is that they are not illuminated. Really makes it difficult for me to use at night. Especially as a new owner.
