Crazy winter/summer tire swap service

So if Porsche service centers do think they can survive by charging ridiculous prices and ridiculous wait times for a tire swap, they will be in for a nasty surprise … maybe older people do not care (I had 4 people well over 60 also waiting for a swap)

- swapped my iX summer for winter tires … took 10 minutes the tire shop is also strict you come in on time and your swap is instant. So I entered the shop and 15 minutes later I was on the road again, paid 76 euro’s, 40 for the swap, 36 for the tire hotel.
- same exercise with at a Porsche service center, arrived 10 minutes before the appointment, took 1h10 minutes (left out the 10 minutes to early), price 344 euro’s 223 for the service and 121 for the tire hotel …

So if they think they can keep this up, good for them, I took the tires to the tire shop, that brings my annual cost from 688 to 152, that leaves plenty of money to have a nice dinner with the family

I agree. My cat was kept all day - no option to wait, and three times the price of the local tire shop. I also requested both times that a recall fix be done at the same time but in neither case could they do it, and the tire change was booked weeks in advance. It is very poor service at a premium price.

Depends on the tires, but still seems very steep.

Then again, everything in Switzerland is +30% for absolutely no reason other than "we can charge more". If you took your car to say Lyon I guarantee you that number would be way lower. I can't believe the prices you guys pay for common every day items

That must be nice, I’ve been to three or four local tire shops over the years, always wait and never get out in under an hour. Usually more like 90 minutes, for some reason they are always legitimately busy.

I’ve taken to just doing the swap myself at home.
