I just got a quote to replace the cheap plastic Macan badge on the back of the car for over $700. It caught a thread and the M broke off. Has anyone else had this happen and what should this cost?

The high gloss black Turbo badge is over NZD$1,100 to replace when I enquired.

Seriously - why use a dealer to install? Do it yourself. Use masking tape to "outline" area of existing badge. Remove remaining parts of old badge - I like to use monofilament fishing line to "saw through" the old tape. Remove tape residue with some heat (hair dryer), carefully picking off remains, and patience. Reinstall new badge.

Good for you - MANY things can be done directly by the owner. You not only save money but you'll gain a new appreciation for your vehicle and a true sense of accomplishment. If you have any doubts / questions do a Google search - you can find instruction or a video for a tremendous number of tasks.

Or, skip the reinstall step and enjoy the clean, “debadged” look :)

Order the install template for $29 to make it a doddle.
