After a 1200-km trip with my Turbo, we noticed that the supposed airvent that blows cool air on your phone to prevent it from heating up too much while charging on the wireless pad did not do a good job at all. The iPhone 14 was very hot, almost 2023 TAYCAN GTS hot. The only difference was that the TAYCAN's integrated "air-fryer" cooked the smartphone to the point that the device went into survival shutdown mode due to overheating.

Has anyone actually seen the HVAC ductwork leading cooled air to this wireless charging tray?

To be fair, I’m a bit skeptical that simply blowing a gentle breeze of cool air on a phone will keep it cool. These things generate excessive heat and don’t charge much, because the inductive coupling is poor.

Phone still gets hot with magnets to position the device properly but it will charge reasonably and not just fry the device. We need the Qi2 standard to be adopted for these things so we have something to keep phones in place.

I’ve honestly never seen an in car charging pad that works well. Only variations of bad. The worst ones have your phone baking in the sun.

Works fine for my Pixel 7 Pro. It's nice and cool, and charged, after I've chucked it in the compartment, when I finally remember to retrieve it.
No warning when I forget it there is the main reason I normally keep the phone in my pocket ...

I’ve had no overheating issues with mine. I do always close the front when it’s in there and generally always have air con on, both of which help it to operate optimally. It’s still not particularly fast though, so I tend to just use a USBC cable I’ve got threaded through to the charger port below through into the cooled hole and place the phone so that the wireless charging doesn’t engage, purely because it’s faster charging.
