Closing trunk by your foot

Hi, I can't find a way to close the rear boot with my foot on my Macan4. The manual says it should be possible, but I can't get it to work. Can you please share your experience? Many thanks.
I have the "Porsche Entry" included of course.

I have done this every day of ownership. Key in pocket. Kick to the right side of the license plate under the bumper. Make certain your leg moves under the bumper and then away from the car. The comfort access setting in the menu has to be enabled.

There is just a bit of delay that often cause me to think the kick didn’t work, but if I wait a second, it usually opens/closes.

The delay is there to give you a chance to step away so you don’t potentially get bonked in the head.

I wasn’t aware of this facility until I saw your post. Then I went out and tried it, and yes, it worked, the car bleeped several times and then the lid closed. I also found that if you stood too close the rear sensors pick you up and there is a long note and the door doesn’t close!

That’s exactly it. You can’t stand at the back of the car so sensor can see you but you must be by the side!!! of the car. Thanks a lot !!

You can otherwise you'd be a contortionist!

You must take a step back (safety measure).

I just picked up my new macan.And with new software the tailgate will only open when the key is inside the car…… no I’m not kidding. It was mentioned by the sales rep who said it was a crazy new safety thing from Porsche.

That can't be right! The whole purpose is that you can come back to the car with your hands full and open the tailgate with your feet.

Yeah, I wonder if the dealer got it backwards and the car now checks to make sure the key is not in the car. That would prevent a stranger from opening the car while you’re in it.

The key is supposed to be with the person who is at the back of the car opening the boot. No key, no open.

Mine opens with the kick and key in my pocket. It also works approaching the cr by pressing the button on the key. The guy doesn't know much about the Macan. The Good To Know guide says the key must be with you to open the tailgate if you re not in the cr.

When the car is locked, you cannot open the boot. You have to unlock the car automatically first with "proximity".
This is different from my Taycan. I think the salesperson is partly right. The description in the settings is also confusing. See in Dutch: ”sleutel moet in het voertuig aanwezig zijn” = "key must be present in the vehicle".

You may have to enable the setting in the PCM.

Ensure you have the keyfob in your pocket too when doing the foot shimy.
