I’ve only had my car washed 3 times. It’s garage kept. Low miles 1400

twice was at Porsche during service.
Washed it myself for the first time today and noticed after initial rinsing that all the center caps were scratched up. It’s strange because theres no damage to the wheels.
Has anyone come across this before? My fault, Porsches fault during wash that I missed, maybe someone trying to get the center caps out?

I have the wheel and tire warranty I’m hoping it will cover replacement caps.
22 inch Macan wheels with carbon fiber inlay.

I suspect someone might have tried to pry them out with a key or something - is that possible? Seems odd they’d try to pull all four though.

On second look it seems the paint or coating on these may be shrinking and/or cracking. If it’s a quality issue surely they’ll replace these.

This one in particular looks more like cracked paint to me than a scratch. They all do to some extent, cracking and chipping around the edges and seams.

I noticed this too, and the thought crossed my mind… oddly when running my finger across there’s no imperfection suggesting a scratch. It’s smooth to the touch.

I wondered this too, but then thought if one didn’t come out wouldn’t they have given up after attempting 1-2 of them. Also I don’t feel any imperfections or dents from a tool trying to pry out. I’ll get in touch with Porsche tomorrow. Figured I’d ask here first if anyone had come across this.

Interesting, that implies it is under the clear coat or something. Let us know.

This is a long standing issue with Porsche centre wheel caps and I've experienced on several different models over the years.

Cheap plastic and prone to bubbling and cracking either due to the weather or salty air. Once moisture gets in it's game over.

Replacement sets are available but expect to pay a lot for the privilege.

May be classed as normal wear and tear but push for a dealer goodwill gesture.

Same thing here, with turbo caps.
I will ask for a replacement under warranty, as it‘s not normal (only 6000km and 7 months of ownership)

Various car get them - they are know as corrosion worms - They are most common on cars that use the old acid wheel cleaner spay - works great but what you see is the penalty - don't use acid based wheel cleaners just soap and water hard work but you will not see the ' worms ' on your wheel centres
