Good day. I live in the Caribbean and collected my EV Maccan 4 days ago. I left it over night charging at home. 10 hrs / 50 amps level 2 charging. This morning I noticed the range is only 498 Km.@ 98% capacity It was set for 100% charge. Is this normal.
regards

yes, and it varies. I can get 380 miles at full charge and then out of the driveway a mile or two, it drops 30 miles. However, it gets better with more mileage on the battery. I noticed a big improvement once I got to about 3,000 miles.

Did you have the preconditioning on before leaving - this could reduce the charge from 100% or even stop the charge to do the preconditioning.

I don’t know if this is related, but sometimes, after recharging my traction battery at a fast charger, I experience what is commonly referred to as “Battery charge rebalancing”.

For example, last week I went to my local EA to fast charge from 40% to 80%. Everything worked as planned, and the charger stopped charging when it reached 80%…but moments later, when I checked on the dash, it registered 89%. …with about 365 miles of range. It dropped about 2% on my drive home where it sat idle in my garage for about 24 hours…it eventually dropped to about 79% and has not dropped any further since. I believe that phenomena is called “rebalancing” of the charge on the batteries cells. I don’t think this is unique to Porsche. That said, most times when I see this…the displayed charge %, and subsequent range, only fluctuates by about 10% Over a 10-15 hr period.
