Audio goes off completely while driving, Macan EV 4S

I am experiencing loss of audio issue now every trip when I drive the car more than 20mins. The audio plays fine when the car is cold started, then audio gets cut off completely including collision warnings, adoptive cruise control, and all other audio related functions. Has anymore been experiencing the same? Mine is a 2025 macan ev 4S, and it has been back to service center 3 times now.

I recall vehicles with the Bose audio system sometimes losing audio on just one side or both. That was fixed with the software update that was a prerequisite for the backup camera recall.
errrr. They actually upgraded the rear camera software, and the issue didn’t get fixed. Now they are just cherry picking random parts to try out, which is very frustrating

My 2024 Macan 4 has it worse, the audio will go off and the whole PCM and two displays will blackout for a couple minutes and reboot. Back and forth for 6 times, kept the car for more than a month twice. Keep telling me they updated the software and such be fine every time. But it still happens, ready for the lemon law to refund or exchange.

That’s exactly the issue I have. Was not even bother to mention this random re-boot of the driver/passenger display.

So how did you start with this lemon law?

Called Porsche customer service before and complained my case, offered me $4.000 for my inconvenience, called yesterday, they reopened the case. This time I request either refund or exchange for the car. See what will happen. Haha If enough cases it can be mass action or class actions.

My 24 Macan 4 had a similar problem (displays would turn off or flicker). My problem was with the glovebox light/switch. Opening the glovebox would trigger the problem. Light did not work either. Dealer replaced the light/switch plus software updates. Although they had already updates the software before which didn't solve the problem. Good luck!

I already opened the case, and requested for a refund, but the dealership keeps delaying their diagnosis, which it had been 3 weeks now.

How long did it take you to settle the $4K for the first time?

They offer me when I opened the case because the dealer never fixed the problem after keeping the car for more than a month. This is the second time they kept the car for more than a month and didn’t fix the problem. The blackout was very dangerous, driving without speedometer or any signs of if the motor is on or not on the highway

i have 2025 4S. only had car about 30 days. had similar issue one time so far.

for no clear reason, the entire audio stopped working. zero sound. no music, no effects, nothing -- like speaker system was completely turned off. even if you tried to turn volume up or down, the graphic would not even pop up on the display. if you tried to open the Bose audio settings, nothing would load (blank screen).

i parked. turned off. went in store. when i came back out hour later, it was suddenly working again. was about 2 weeks ago. has not repeated since.

in my case, my screens kept working and nothing else seemed wrong with PCM. literally just ZERO audio.

but i continue to have weird software glitches with the car. im honestly not looking forward to seeing what other surprises i get over next year. frankly for car this expensive, it should not be having these types of glitches.

Thanks for letting me know. That’s how exactly it started in my situation. Then it became more and more frequent to every single drive.

It came back after an hour stop was b/c the car would be cold started after a long break. Hopefully this won’t happen to you again, but you now have some references.

Agree this is not something very pleasant with an $100K+ car, and Porsche insists that this is a single instance but apparently not.

Mine did that last night. Had to turn on electric sport sound for the ride home, just so I could feel something 😆

Also, my $200 AliExpress Wireless CarPlay box for my 2007 BMW has NEVER had any issues in 4 years it's been installed.

updates.....

Sent the certified letter to Porsche in demand of vehicle to be re-purchased. I was offered to settle with a cash, which was declined.

Now are waiting on response from Porsche again.

Hi, I have a 2024 Macan 4 and have experienced these issues twice in 9 months since I got it. One issue is the sound completely cutting out, not even the turn signals make a sound. The recommendation to unplug and reconnect the power cable on the Bose unit in the trunk worked the first time, but did not work the second time that the issue happened. The second time also included all screens going blank when the sound cut out. However I did a PCM reset (hold the volume button down 30 seconds or so), and that restarted the screens, but did not fix the sound. The sound only came back after I let the car sit for a couple of hours at home. I haven't had it happen since the rearview camera update but it has only been a short while since the recall.

If these issues happen again (since the update) then I will report it to Transport Canada. These are absolutely safety related since you lose the speedometer, and all sounds that include sensor warnings, proximity etc.

seems definitely a widely reported issue with Macan EV now
