One of the main reasons I like this car was the smooth Android Auto integration.
Wireless connection is great, but the best feature was the AA navigation display as part of the HUD. Killer feature!

Unfortunately, as of a few days ago, that feature seems to have disappeared from my car, and I can't find a setting that would put it back.
The navigation still displays on the center dash cluster, as well as on the infotainment screen, but it's gone from the HUD.
Also, the dash cluster used to show a "estimated arrival time" by the clock in the lower-left when in AA navigation mode, but that element is now also gone.

Is there some hidden setting that I'm supposed to toggle to get this back, or did they break this with some update?

I found this thread as part of my Google searches. Haven't driven the car in a week or so but noticed the same today. Very strange and haven't seen it being mentioned besides you.

Will call my dealership tomorrow.

Are you sure that you did not change your HUD view using the right scroll wheel?
You can have your own view as well and you need to select what you want to have in your HUD compared to the system view that in my case included all options. (Also possible to adjust)
It’s not really obvious but using the right button on your steering wheel to select the HUD and than use the scroll wheel to see the different options/views.

That was the first thing I tried. However I've not done a full system reboot so will try that as well.

1) have you tried different navigation apps
2) do you have an iPhone you can try as well ?

3 possibilities -
1) App isn’t sending the HUD meta data over
2) Android isn’t sending the meta data over
3) Car is receiving but not correctly processing the HUD meta data

testing 1) different nav apps and 2) an iPhone will help diagnose

if you have another car with Android auto or are technically inclined you could emulate the HUD on a computer and check that your phone is doing what it’s supposed to. It’s probably easier to fix phone-side vs car-side issues so I’d start by eliminating likely phone-side causes first. Oh also check if your cars native nav displays on the HUD.

Yeah, I went through all the settings I could think of, and it doesn't help.

The in-device navigation does display in the expected spots, but when using Android Auto navigation, those spots are empty.

The app is the built-in navigation app in Android Auto. I don't have an iPhone to compare to.

It's possible this is an Android system update problem rather than a Porsche update, of course. Checking some entirely different brand would be a reasonable next step. BUUUT most of them don't actually have the "display the route guidance in the HUD" feature. The Audi e-tron GT did not, for example. (At least the '22 that I had) That's what was so neat about the Macan when I tested it!

Sounds like RandomMacan has the same problem.

I might try Waze, but I usually don't open any particular app -- I press one of the suggested destinations in the top-right when Android Auto connects, and it opens up the route to there. I imagine this might maybe be google maps in the background, but it's really just "android auto defaults."

Because I've never used Waze, I don't know whether it's supposed to show the turn/distance directions in the AR HUD -- do you use it, and does it do this?
