2026 Macan EV 4S - Question about brake noise at low speeds

Hi everyone,


I’ve been driving my new 2026 Macan EV 4S for about 10 days now. I have a question regarding a specific sound I'm hearing during braking.


When I’m braking at low speeds (under 10 km/h), right at the point where it feels like the car is transitioning from regenerative braking to friction brakes, I hear a slight motor whirring sound followed by a "shhh" air vacuum sound as the car comes to a stop.a


The sound isn't very loud—you have to listen closely to catch it—but it's definitely there. Is this normal behavior for the Macan EV's braking system, or should I have it looked at?

My guess is that it is the air suspension (if you have it installed) and specifically the air compressor rather than the brakes. If you heard a rubbing sound when on friction then that would be normal (especially after rain) on first use of the car on any given day.

The noise you describe occurs on my 2025 Macan EV 4S as well. Would be interested to hear if others have had the service department look into the issue.

I’m getting something similar, don’t recall the air ‘dump’ but it could be there.

Wasn’t sure if it was just beginning to bed in pads and take some surface coating off the rotors. Don’t recall it being on the 4S I drove at the dealer or at the Experience Centre.

I n own case, I’ve not been paying too much money attention as the cars only got 35 miles on it and pretty much all of it has been low speed across town.
