All Macan EVs come with "preparation for towbar systems" if the hitch isn't specified at build time.
Check with your dealer for options - it may be that the only option is the electric deployable one.
Depending on the ambient temperature the pre-heat / pre-climate / pre-condition (3 words for the same thing depending on which country you live in) will enable some or all of the following: the rear demister, seat heating (has manual selection for driver and / or passenger side via the app) and...
Check that the option is enabled - Vehicle Locking - Comfort opening tailgate option
Make sure the keys are on your person, centre of the bumper (not too close) foot in / out and step back, repeat to close.
I understand what you would use them for but lost as to why when selecting 'R' and the dipped setting already programmed gives your the passenger option regardless. You may wish to dip both driver and passenger so that might be a useful combination.
Choice is yours at the end of the day.
The memory buttons are for all settings and not just the mirror(s) - I guess they assumed folk would use the memory buttons in addition to the 2 keys to recall specific use cases.
My guess is most people don't use the memory buttons at all and rely on the key but when sharing the key it is then...
More common than you might imagine. Various circumstances - unexpected interruption during closing, power glitch, frozen to door seal momentarily etc.

We moaned about similar on the Taycan since 2020 and the absence of soft close doors as an option. New J1.2 Taycan has this as an option (someone was listening) but not yet on the Macan EV (only a matter of time) but this would help.
Only intended to be the kerbside (passenger) on RHD or LHD vehicles - same for all Porsches (and many other brands). Technically both could but I guess it's a deliberate act to not dip the driver's due to the likelihood of approaching traffic in most situations.

My PMCC was free and at the time all Taycans 2020 to at least 2024 where shipped with a free PMC+
It won't take much public charging (< 20) at excessive rates before home setup costs will have paid for themselves.
For the Taycan It's the Warn Brake Assist setting but the Macan doesn't appear to have that level of control - can't see it on the simulator and is either off or on rather than off, early, medium or late.
Tad annoying as I use the feature when entering my garage and prior to setting the car...
