At low speed (e.g. parking) the rear wheels will turn in the opposite direction when moving from the front ones BUT only by around 5 degrees and so you won't necessarily see this from the driver's seat.
In your park assist when the display is active you will see the graphic alter (at least if...
The preconditioning experienced here is nothing more than what naturally occurs when applying power to a battery (any) to charge it - it will naturally increase in temperature due to the chemical reaction that takes place. Analogous to charging your phone - it warms up but we don't refer to this...
The Macan EV is not as quiet as you might expect. Cheaper materials / cheaper build. Large rims will create more road noise and because you're in an EV this will become more audible.
Insulated glass really only reduces noise from passing traffic which by the way is more noticeable in the Macan...
MY is the same globally - for clarity I can speak with confidence for UK / EU and for some reason NA always has to do it different.
My assertion still stands regardless. All customer cars delivered from Sep'24 onward will be classed as MY25 by Porsche.
Why would the Macan EV break the mould...
I noticed the warning comes on at 40 miles and with poor consumption 2.3 mi / kWh on a brand new car I gingerly let it go to around 14 miles (10%) before charging.
One of the many things about the Macan EV that I'm just not comfortable with.
Not in UK or EU (where they are made).
First Macan EVs arrived late 2024 with customer deliveries in Nov'24 and dealer demos in Sep 24. - post Jul / Aug therefore classed as MY25.
Preproduction models prior to that.
I had a 4S for the weekend just passed so can share some thoughts.
Heated front screen
Bose - disappointing and really needs to be reviewed by Porsche (I have it in my Taycan and I would always recommend but unless the installation is addressed the standard Sound Plus would be the wise choice...
Yes but the Porsche model year will be MY25 which aligns 100% with what I said - remember that it is not the year of manufacture but the manufacturers model year which in the Porsche world always straddles 2 calendar years.
Bose in the Macan is really below par and not what you would expect and certainly not worth the premium.
It could be an installation issue but the 4S i had at weekend had the same poor Bose. I have it on my Taycan and it is on a different level.
Other issues too with the car and enough for me...
This is the same situation with the Taycan since 2020 where certain functionality within Porsche Connect did not work / were not available.
If true then history shows that there won't be a solution.
Porsche model year (MY) for all models and variants begins and ends in the summertime - end July - when the configurator gets updated too. New MYs will ship for September delivery.
All Macan EVs produced so far for public use will be MY25 regardless of region / destination.
Wireless CarPlay is supported. Consult Owner's manual.
Sounds like you haven't been set up fully / correctly with all the services.
I had a 4S all weekend. Logged in with My Porsche ID that I use for my Taycan and everything worked just fine (I don't use Apple).
Wheels are fine and anything bigger will impact range.
Roof rails should be added
Body coloured door mirrors
14-way comfort seats are great
Gloss black window surrounds
Rear wiper is a must - had a 4S all weekend and this was one of the shortcomings
Bose is normally a must have but the...
My wife has a Macan T and previously had a Macan Turbo. After this weekend's extended test the Macan EV won't feature in its current form.
Porsche must do better IMHO
I have a Taycan GTS ST and a 4S Macan EV for a long (this) weekend test drive - I'm not in love at all, close but no cigar in comparison (perfectly decent, don't get me wrong) and to be honest doesn't deserve the 4S badge (sorry). Next the Turbo and then we'll see.
I'm prepared to stick my neck out and expect it will surface long before then - Porsche don't have 3 years to dither with this and can't survive on EV sales alone at this point - that's why the new Cayenne will be a complete mix. High volume is what keeps Porsche afloat.
