Porsche Pulls The Plug On EV’s

There are more news from Porsche in German press. Apparently 718 and Cayenne will be available with combustion engine (performance only) as well. Not sure if this means current models will stay for longer as I fail to understand how they would be able to modify EV platform.

Porsche Pulls The Plug On EV’s

As you know, I am more interested in CPU infrastructure and software integration. Consumption for iX3 is 4.1 mi/kWh. My car reached same figures when it was collected ;-).

Porsche Pulls The Plug On EV’s

For the mass market, electric is the future with autonomous driving being one of the main selling points. Mercedes currently has the lead in autonomous driving and we will see how the new generation of cars compare. Batteries will get smarter, smaller and more powerful over time. Chinese EV's...

Porsche Pulls The Plug On EV’s

Totally agree with above. Without tax incentive (currently for businesses), it's really hard to justify electric cars in UK. Drive is amazing, but depreciation and insurance are hard to swallow and costs of charging at super charger in comparison to petrol seems no longer an advantage (charging...

Camera showing front and rear wheels

Yes, it’s possible. I find the GUI a little confusing, in particular pressing little white cameras for different views. If I recall correctly, there is a side view at the start. Haven’t used it for a while.

Front (air) suspension cracking sound over speed bumps

Currently have a loaner, same noise or let's call it subtle acoustic feedback and car characteristics. Started to believe in the Porsche story but then I test drove an other Macan recently (testing same speed bumps) without overt noise. I can now confirm, there are indeed significant...

August consumption data Stats, please share!

Mine (4s, 20inch) is too young (few days) to get reliable consumption data but here is a treat. My consumption for 7 miles (city) was 3.1 mi/kWh, Porsche technician collecting my car (same route, opposite direction) achieved 4.0 mi/kWh. 25% human factor

Sport Chrono Package with Porsche Design Subsecond Clock

I had the luxury (silver lining) of ordering 2 and having a few loaners. It's so easy to get carried away.

Sport Chrono Package with Porsche Design Subsecond Clock

Race-Tex is now a must for me, looks so much better. Have a look at a Turbo, comes as standard. Race-Tex + standard leather to me has bigger impact than extended leather alone. I gave up on Bose for Race-Tex, thought I made a mistake but loaner has Bose and to me, difference is not so big. I am...

Sport Chrono Package with Porsche Design Subsecond Clock

I have the compass. First time I saw it, WOW, looks really luxurious. But like many things, got used to it. I like the functionality though, it's an analog watch ;-). Don't care of the features it comes with, not taking car on the racetrack.

64 inches of clearance; am I asking for it?

Not entirely sure, but tyre circumference stays the same for 20 to 22 inch. Worth checking.

Worst 1 year review of the Macan 4 - EVER. 8 months at the dealership for issues.

Well, I have 20 days left to decide. No idea, really love the car but having these kind of faults within first 7 days without overt cause is really difficult to ignore.

Worst 1 year review of the Macan 4 - EVER. 8 months at the dealership for issues.

Brief update, no error found. They blame software, sound familiar? They call it symptomatic repair and seems common enough to get own Porsche code and procedure manual. Basically hardware and software reset. Even keys need reprogramming so more than disconnecting 12 volt battery.

Sport Chrono Package with Porsche Design Subsecond Clock

Some of us are in the same boat :CWL: . I got leather middle console and Race-Tex roof lining. Totally unnecessary and overpriced, but I love it.

    Production to Delivery

I ordered in March for delivery in June but pushed back to August build. After build, 2-4 weeks including paperwork, transfer to Emden, waiting to board ship, on seas for 1 day, customs and delivery for dealer (the last part is slow). Don't forget, there was also the summer holiday with part...

I thought wheel arches are more complicated. Please post how you get along.

Sport Chrono Package with Porsche Design Subsecond Clock

Got a loaner with above. Never seen it before in the flash on Macan. Looks utterly amazing. Personally couldn't justify premium so didn't order. Too late for me anyhow, but those who can, you may want to see for yourself.

Worst 1 year review of the Macan 4 - EVER. 8 months at the dealership for issues.

Indeed, 4 in same colour and good specs. The exclusive chrono looks amazing - never seen it before. White seats with little kids, what can go possibly wrong.

Post some pictures when you are done. Are you are doing it yourself? Seems like a bigger job.
