Agree. These reflections are a flaw in this otherwise amazing vehicle. I keep a microfiber towel in the center tray under the piano black panel, both to clean fingerprints off and to block these reflections when necessary.
No. The Cayenne S loaner I'm driving rn, while my 4S is waiting at the dealership on a new wheel that they must be literally rowing over to the US (it's taking VERY a long time!), barely fits in my garage and feels markedly less planted than my 4S. Electrification should lower the center of...
Just a little (non)update: Evidently Porsche mines its own metals before it forges wheels for the Macan - or at least it must, as my 4S remains in the shop (since the 4th of June!), waiting on a new wheel to be conjured by Porsche. In the meantime, I'm still driving a very nice loaner Cayenne S...
So . . . crazy update - somehow I hit a metal rod when I got the puncture, and the rod went through not only the tire, but also the rim. THANK GOODNESS I GOT THE INSURANCE!! The outside of the rim was untouched - looks brand new still. But, they said they mounted the replacement tire and it kept...
I hit a hidden bump in the road fairly hard while turning right in sport plus mode yesterday evening on the way home from work. Immediately began losing pressure in left rear (driver's side - US) tire. By the time I got home (about 2 miles) pressure was virtually nil. We had strong thunderstorms...
The only real issue with the 18-way seats, imo, is that the seat bolster is very stiff. So, my 80+ yo father in law and my 79 yo Dad, neither of whom are moving particularly well at their age, have more than a little difficulty getting in and out. My 11yo son complained a little about it too...
I’ve taken mine through the car wash several times. I just put it in neutral as the carwash instructs, turn off wipers, and watch the suds and brushes do their thing. No problems. I don’t have power charging covers, but I do have the comfort access / hand swipe feature to open the frunk. But...
Obviously there are a few cosmetic differences, and obviously that rear motor is more powerful. Are there other technical / performance affecting differences? I asked my driving coach at PECLA, and he kind of dismissed the question, suggesting that was all a bunch of boring engineering stuff...
This is the one option I would not get if I had a do-over. It’s cool and all, but really not particularly useful for me because I don’t take the car on road trips. My wife doesn’t like to mess with it, and my 11yo son just wants to play games on it (which results in game sound being piped into...
I have skipped the argument section of this thread and just have this comment, as I have RAS and find it very noticeable:
Try driving below 10mph and waggling the wheel back and forth (make S's) - in a parking lot, down an alley, whatever. You should feel a sensation of the rear end floating...
The way I compare is when I bring takeout home (or do a little crop dusting after parking before I get out). In my 2020 Acura MDX, the car would sometimes retain some of the odor the food (or I) left behind when I next got in the car. In the Porsche, I can smell nothing of the sort. Likewise...
My wife is not a car enthusiast, but it was a beautiful day for the event, in Dallas’s White Rock Lake (I call it Dallas’s “Central Park”), and they had a food truck (“Fish & Fizz”) that my wife loves, which serves excellent gluten free fish and chips. So, since it was Mother’s Day, we just...
I did. My main concern was that the system would require expensive maintenance. My SA assured me it would not. Time will tell.
In any event, the system seems to be very good. Someone mentioned in another post on this forum that it seems like their car gets dusty quickly. I have not had that...
Saw a black one yesterday on Central Expressway in Dallas. It wasn’t a turbo, but I didn’t see it from behind, so I could not tell what model it was.
That makes 4 (other than my own) that I’ve seen in the Dallas area since I started looking for them in January.
FWIW, it looked GREAT in black...
I like it most of the time. My best friend was in the car w/ me on a longer drive last weekend and volunteered (unprompted) that he thought it was cool. My kid, his kids say they like it. Arguably it's a little drone-ey at constant highway speed, but when accelerating and decelerating, I think...
