I don’t expect it, but I am hopeful. We knew the car always had UWB which is a key technology that Apple CarKey is based on. Not to mention the new Porsche Digital Key option code is the same code used on the 2024/2025 cars.
Looks identical to the implementation that BMW did with the iX....that is only 5 years ago now. 😊
There are no legitimate reasons why the Macan could not have been built with the right hardware from its initial release. What is required has been a well known quantity for years now.
I think you’ll find those services are related to the Porsche Digital Key (Apple CarKey). It’s clear it was unfinished work when the Macan launched and the software has been there all along, albeit in an incomplete form. Whether this transforms into a usable Apple CarKey implementation or not we...
Interesting that others had problems and required PCM factory reset two resolve this issue.
CarPlay initiates the connection on bluetooth and then rapidly hands over to WiFi, hence functioning WiFi in the vehicle is essential.
For me, getting the Hotspot functioning (with a longer WiFi...
Update - solved (for me anyway).
Since this issue arose I did notice I had a prompt in the PCM to activate the WiFi hotspot in the car. That got me to check the settings and it turns out the previous SSID password I had set no longer met the complexity requirements of the PCM. It was 9...
I had similar issues upon delivery and followed that process back then, but not had issues since.
What gets me is was working flawlessly, no known changes, and now it refuses to connect!
I had my car updated to VR28.13 the week before last and everything worked fine, in including CarPlay connectivity. All of a sudden yesterday my Macan would not connect to CarPlay. I'm trying to work out if this is a weird 26.2 b3 issue, a VR28.13 issue, or maybe a combination of both.
I've...
We have not seen a test drive yet, so we don't know about the tuning but I wouldn't get my hopes up. The GTS is usually the "sweet spot", but not often the "best". Either way, the Turbo is incredible, and I expect the GTS will be incredible too.
I think the Turbo will in reality still be the sportiest. In Sport Plus, it’s an absolute beast in the twisties. The GTS is probably the sportiest looking though.
Yeah, not feeling any FOMO on the exterior. The Macan electric is a better looking car imo. The enhanced infotainment on the Caynene does look nice though.
My car went into the dealer last Thursday for the software update, I've been travelling so only just picked the car up this afternoon (it's now Monday afternoon here in NZ). They said the software update went smooth with no issues whatsoever which I guess is good.
I've only driven it around the...
