Anyone tried Starlink through the sunroof?

We spend a lot of time in the car doing road trips, and I was thinking about investing in a Starlink mini for use in the car. Anyone tried getting a Starlink mini signal through the sunroof glass?

Starlink generally needs a wide horizon view. Maybe you could somehow glue it to the ceiling or something and try to get >110 degrees maybe, but I wouldn't put big hopes on it.

The "starlink for aviation" FAQ says:

Performance may vary significantly depending on the specific aircraft, the Mini’s positioning, the type of windscreen, and other variables. Operating the Mini near a window with limited sky visibility will result in a suboptimal field of view to the satellites.​

I think in aviation the recommendation to have > 110 degrees FOV is due to aircraft banking during turns. If you're on terra firma, > 90 degrees FOV doesn't really help you.

That illustration is more about obstructions than FOV.

Regardless, I have no first-hand experience with Starlink, so take anything I said with a unhealthy dose of salt.
