Hi everyone,
I'm planning an electric car road trip through Spain, southern France, and Tuscany, Italy.
I would love some tips on the best charging stations, networks, and any useful apps for finding chargers. Any recommendations?

PlugShare is all you need to know the state of chargers all around (they have an app).

For planning, the Macan does a good job but if you really want to do it manually, ABRP is your best bet.

We did a roadtrip from The Netherlands to Spain an back and used the Porsche app and Chargemap which is similar to Plugshare I reckon. Both are sufficient, but ABRP is indeed the best routeplanner.

In Portugal the Porsche card don't work, only the app. One good solution is the "Via verde" app

I have just been driving in Spain and I have used the Porsche key ring at Zunder, Ionity and Iberdrola. No problem at all.

In Italy the Porsche charging card usually gives you the best rates. You will find a fast charging station in almost any gas station (Autogrill) in the main Highways, but I suggest you to look for the Ionity stations (usually very close to an highway exit) where you have a very good price with the Porsche Card (0,39 € cent x Kwh). The only one I found not very reliable is the Ionity station in Val di Chiana (I hope they fixed the problems). No problem with all the other I tried so far.

Regarding the prices, I can recommend the app "chargeprice".

When road tripping I learnt, that every form of payment is possible: integrated payment terminals, "account registration with pre-payments", NFC card readers,...
Paying can take more time than the actual charging.

In my case, the Porsche Charging Service Plus only makes sense for short breaks at Ionity, Porsche Charging Lounges and Porsche dealers - so only at HPC's. Otherwise the blocking fee will hit you. Furthermore, the roaming capabilities of the PCS, even in EU countries, are fairly limited.
