May be having unexpected employment change. Getting CarMax estimate Friday. Thought I’d post something here. Also have a screw in a tire going to try to get that plugged tomorrow.
Been driving it a lot. 9900 miles so about 1000 a month. Really don’t like selling myself, but at the same time …

Fellow Coachella Valley owner: when I sold my Taycan, Porsche Palm Springs gave me the lowest value, and told me to go to CarMax. I went to CarMax and the quote was $2k higher the PPS. Ended up contacting Porsche Riverside via email who gave me the most value (and then I ordered my Macan through them). Just an idea...

They were no better than Palm Springs in this case. But thanks for the tip.

Fellow IGM owner in CA. Nice options package, nice looking car. When I recently sold my older SUV the Carmax and Carvana quotes I received were substantially lower than what I received via a private sale myself. I had the time to do that though, and newer cars might be a different story. Best of luck.

Not to mention there’s some collusion going on. When I went to get rid of my iX I first went to Carmax. Then just 30 minutes later I went to the BMW dealership. The salesman said straight up “I saw the Carmax offer you got in the system, we can match that but no higher”. So while you may get different offers from different places, I just assume now that everyone in the dealership system knows what everyone else is offering you.

Am facing the 12 month end of m prepaid one pay PFS lease mid Oct.

Was considering buyout, but interested to see facelift coming and the new Cayenne EV, etc late ‘26 as ‘27 models.

Having lost my shirt on a factory ordered Loaded MACH E AWD for 2 years while awaiting the testing launch and order of my ‘24 Macan 4 EV, the dealer principal suggested the safest and cheapest would be to re-lease my own EV from PFS. They are offering solid residual values on a 12 and 24 mo lease for my ‘24 car. They can carry the equity risk versus getting crushed a second time around for me.

Otherwise, I’d consider buying your beautiful car in next couple of weeks which has all the specs and color I’d want!

One option - if you have the opportunity to purchase in the future something from the same Dealer again is to have them value it as if it is for a future trade in.

Am not sure California, but NY state I think allows up to 2 years for sales tax credit on a next car. I did that on my ’21 Macan S. I pretraded it in while awaiting and then ordering the Macan 4 EV for almost 2 while driving a purchased vs leased Mach E. I fear EV residual values are more volatile than ICE cars so may be subject to price wars amongst brands.
