I too looked at the G EV. For me, the low range, lower efficiency and slower charging speed were suboptimal, since I do a fair amount of highway driving. But loved the interior space.

While I think we all can agree that the build quality of the Macan EV isn’t the same as the 911 (so models do differ within a brand), in general industry assessments, Mercedes gets high marks for great design and technology, but lower marks for build quality compared to Porsche. Looking to see how the G EV fairs in long-term tests.

I have a 2025 G580, while it is nice, I will be turning it in at the end of the lease. Have had it since last July, averaging 1.8mpkWh since I got it (new, only had 9 miles on it). It is not a super sporty, nor super "comfortable" drive, really similar to driving my spouse's F150. I would probably get another one if they put their newer battery in, appears that the chemistry is vastly different on the new GLC EV and they are roughly the same size battery. All that said, I have had zero issues with it, absolutely nothing has ever gone wrong, the thing is well made.
