When did we get plug and charge for Tesla superchargers? I've used it at electrify america, but didn't hear any news that it now works with Tesla!
I don’t know. I was unaware it was working. Very pleasantly surprised.

I had to try it and I can confirm, plug and charge worked for me in NJ! No idea about billing yet, I'm still charging...

The invoice for P&C charging at a Tesla SC took about 2 business days to appear in my charge history In the My Porsche app. The price was $0.48/kWh.

That triggered me to check again...I see mine now too. Tesla superchargers have location-specific (and maybe time-specific?) rates, my session was $0.52/kWh.

It's funny because I looked at the history while I was charging, and the active session was there. But then it disappeared.

Also, in the Tesla app you can pay $12.99 to be a 'member', which gets you lower rates. I have no idea if that can work with Plug & Charger though.

Unless something changed recently, it can't. Tesla (and EA Pass+) have never passed through their membership discounts to other payment processes. You can only get those discounts if the Tesla wallet (or the EA wallet) is paying for that charge session, activated through their apps (unless of course the car is a Tesla where the Tesla account/wallet is built-in).

Plug&Charge uses the car's account/wallet. Different payment system, so no membership discount. But for the first year we do get something even better... free EA.

Yeah, I guess nothing beats free EA with plug&charge. Unfortunately the folks who use DC charging the most can't get both a discounted rate and convenience. sigh.

Yes, that's been a frustration for years with non-Tesla EVs. We can get the EA Pass+ (or SC) membership discount, or we can get Plug&Charge, but not both.

There was a period where I got a similar discount from Ford in my Mach-E, but that was a beta testing program that they eventually dropped. It was really nice while it lasted though.

I'd really rather see CPOs just drop their memberships and give everyone the same fair price. Playing the membership game also limits our station options during a trip, and the network of DCFC across the country isn't ubiquitous enough yet to be exclusive to one CPO. Still too many gaps and weak spots. Should be like gas where we don't feel limited to just one brand.
