Myterious Tool Found in New Macan

Hello,

So, I own the car for around a month by now. I’ve recently noticed some trim noise in front of me and then finally found this tool in between the dash and the windshield.

I’ve had the windshield tinted in the dealer, so I’ve directly asked if this was their leftover, and I’ve got responded it wasn’t theirs and they haven’t seen the tool there while applying the tint.

I’m clueless on how this thing appeared later on, but probably no one can respond that.

The question is, could this be from the factory QC? Anyone with familiarity around here?

I think it’s used for checking panel gaps.

I'd expect checking panel alignment, not gaps. Place one edge against one panel, and make it cross the gap, and you can see how close to flat the next panel is.
