Local dealer told me yesterday that nearly all of this years Macan EV allocation for them is sold, so if I didn't commit to the one remaining soon, he'd would need to negotiate with other dealers to try to secure one. Now, he has been really straight with me so far, but honestly, I'm smelling bullshit on this. It's only Feb, it's an expensive EV proposition, depreciation likely to be dreadful, finance rate is 9.4%. Whatever way you look at it, you have to really want your Porsche for this to work, and, unfortunately, I'm sold on the idea and do actually want to be an early-ish adopter ! However, I will just move on if I don't feel good about it.

Interestingly, the retail sales manager emailed me last night asking if there was anything he could do to help move things along, which made me think they are scratching for business / pushing every bona fide lead, which is fine, but why the "only one left tactic" I wonder.

However, is this just a case that I need to shop around, or will I likely run into availability issues everywhere? I see on the Porsche stock website, there are 12x GTS, 5x 4s, 3x Turbo, all readily available.

In summary, is Macan EV selling really well in UK?

When I ordered my car in October last year the dealer said that allocations are received each quarter start and that they had none left but there would be new allocations in January.

Sure enough, in the first few days of Jan, I received my allocation and could start tracking the car through Track My Dream in the App.

If you aren't completely happy with the dealer conversations, though, then do shop around. It's a lot of money to spend with someone you aren't comfortable with.

Ignoring the current GTS fleet (which I believe they anticipated more allocations would be sold at launch but perhaps weren’t due to Porsche Financial Services being the only finance provider able to quote), I do think allocations are somewhat limited. I very much doubt it until year-end but I’m currently at eight months for a 4S. This has been slightly compounded by conformity certificates for the MY26 refresh and my specific dealer being over-subscribed.

Excellent, I must have misunderstood him!

Thus far I have had a good experience, he has been excellent, he quickly organised a 24h loan, and he has offered a test drive on trade plates of a GTS, so I really can't complain.

Wow, that's a long wait - assume you are using a London dealer given your location?

Overall then, it seems like the UK is consuming these electric Macans as fast as they cen deliver them! Should be good for residuals :fingerscrossed:!

Sheffield… we have a broker we use for company fleet and they found the best price there. Pricing probably meant allocations were ovee subsribed. London and Colchester based dealers both told me six months.

I have total trust in the Colchester dealership. If they are saying 6 months then I would absolutely believe them.

As much as I would hope that Porsche are having problems satisfying demand - I suspect that it may not be that the EV is so popular but that Porsche is reducing production of them. I suggest asking your dealer what the delivery of say an ICE Macan is.

Personally I think something odd is going on with Porsche in general.

There are a lot of stock new Macans bolstered by the avalanche of GTS variants which rocked up across the UK in the past few weeks. These have been selling but 12 new and 2 OPC (demos) still remain and stock changes daily (I have an automated GTS daily tracker). Since 7/2/26 there have been 31 unique VINs. Not high volume by any means but the fact there's stock is not normal.

Bespoke factory orders typically take 3 months and PTS possibly double that. Allocations are dealer specific and can vary wildly. 4S allocations are always in demand and historically skewed to match. This will now change as the more desirable "sweet spot" GTS variant has been released.

Macan EV is built in Leipzig and the Cayenne EV in VW's Bratislava plant so production bottlenecks don't explain it either.

There are EU mandated changes being rolled out such as Driver Awareness Monitoring (March 2026) - perhaps this is hampering production - already on GTS models.

Yesterday I received an email from my dealer listing 140 new stock Cayenne (ICE) cars comprising every single variant possible each with up to £11K discount.

"Selling well" is hard to measure given the overall confusion on direction of travel for EVs in UK.

ICE Macan orders are in run out mode and will stop very soon in UK.

Dealer said if I do a factory order by mid-March, delivery will be May, so yes, 2-3 months currently.

How about Macan EV discounts in 2026?

Indeed, and that does turn people off. Total crap really the government of the day flip-flopping the rules.

No Macan EV discounts that I'm aware of but if you find an in stock model then I'm sure some token deal can be made. RWD variants are least in demand (I suspect they may get dropped from the line up as most folk assume all are AWD) and GTS models too new to get anything.

That said, in December if I purchased or ordered new I would have got £2,500 off any Macan EV, free Porsche Wallbox worth £1,200 (I already have a PMCC), cheaper finance and 2 free Porsche Experience Days. A haul worth around £5K. End of year offers can be attractive.

I'm also expecting a price rise in March / April so that will hurt further.

Porsche learned their lesson with the Taycan after flooding the UK market and have now cut back production significantly. The Macan EV may see some throttling too if demand softens rather than too much product on sale and a possible reduction in variants (my guess). Cayenne EV is bound to steal some sales as it represents better value for money given the tech and higher standard spec.

I can't believe how expensive public ultra rapid charging has become - £0.90 / kW in some locations - and apart from occasional Ionity usage at Porsche discounted rate only home charging makes an EV cheapest to run. If I couldn't charge at home and didn't have the Ionity rate it could cost me £0.13 / mile more to fuel an EV (3.0 mi / kWh) than my Macan ICE (34 mi / gal - £1.26 / lt). [Charging at home (£0.07 / kW) would turn that a full 180 and I'd save £0.14 / mile -7 times cheaper per mile driven]. That's not how it's meant to be!

Thanks for the info, I better get a move on and commit or drop the idea! Dealer did already hint at a deal, so we'll see how much that plays out.

My regular drive is an M5, current average is ~27p/mile cost of fuel alone. I have had several M cars over the past 10 years, and was doing >100 mile round trip commute; that means fill up every 3-4 days with BP Ultimate or Shell V Power+. Change the car at ~50k miles, so every 2-2.5 years. PCP no good with that mileage, and M cars do take a depreciation hit anyway, but overall I love the drive and wanted to 'enjoy' the journey to work!

Macan EV is not really about cost saving, I like a good drive, never had a Porsche, BMW interiors uninspiring (to me), and being a techie, I want to try the EV tech (even though it continues to improve quite quickly). Should I get the Macan, I hope I don't regret the adventure. I've stuck with BMW for 30 years, but they are just copying Tesla/Chinese now, and I don't like the direction.

I ordered my Macan 4 last July and it has only now been built with delivery middle to end of March (I’m away for a bit around that time, complicating matters). So, a very long lead time…. Nothing to fancy spec-wise, either.

It’s also a company car with Porsche Reading fulfilling the order.

I’m also moving away from 28-odd years with BMW, with this being my first Porsche.

Ordered my Macan EV 1st week of Jan 2026. 32k of extras. Got a 5k discount. According to the follow my dreams app, it's currently being built and due for delivery by the end of next month.

My options on a 4S were up to ~Ā£22/23k, but there’s still for Ā£3k on wheels and Ā£3k on Burmester šŸ˜‚!
