The base model is the Macan RWD (single motor) and not the 4 which has 2 motors.
I am fully aware of that. Not sure what the perspective is outside of the US but within the US here's the perspective - If an SUV is available in both a 2WD (rear or front) and a 4WD/AWD the 2WD versions have extremely low demand and sales are abysmal. That is why I consider the Macan 4 as "base" because the 2WD really isn't a consideration. Prediction - Porsche will eventually drop availability of the 2WD variant due to low sales. To my knowledge, the ICE Macan was NEVER available in a 2WD variant.

I have the 4, without crono. I dont really understand the reference to launch control, in an ICE you can be revving the engine, winding up the turbo. In an EV you cant do any of this.

For UK speeds, and I'd imagine USA as well, 4 is plenty fast enough, especially 30-70mph. I can understand the Turbo If you live in or near germany, but otherwise spend it on some toys.

If you need an extra fast getaway just use brake hold and you can put your foot over the throttle - just dont tap it by accident.....

I had to correct your statement and with all due respect was incorrect for less familiar folk who may read this post.

No difference in UK and RWD (new, unsold) are plentiful ergo pointless. The only positive is the materially better range.

Lowers the entry point to the brand as per the ICE and may feature more easily on company car schemes across Europe.

ICE RWD variant has been around since 2021 so don't expect it to disappear anytime soon.

Launch mode gives you all available power - 360 PS (RWD) and 408 PS in the 4 which is more than just flooring it in Normal or Sport drive mode.

Academic but there you go.

When we were checking inventory last year in CO/UT/NV/AZ, maybe 20% were RWD. We were intending to get a 4 but the closest car we found to what we wanted was a RWD. And in an EV, it that's fine for our purposes. It's still more than enough power for our tastes (we drive it like a normal car, not a sports car). And with the extra weight of an EV, traction is already good in rain or snow.

Plus we road trip a ton, so the longest range was a high priority for us.
