Clicking Sound in Slippery Conditions?

I've been recently travelling to a construction site that gets very muddy and slippery after heavy rains. With the wheels slipping and sliding the car forward through the muck, I hear a clicking sound that I am imagining is something like a differential engaging/disengaging the different wheels by the all wheel drive system (but that's only speculation on my part). Has anyone else noticed this?

Is PT4+ standard on the Turbo, or optioned on yours? If so it has a variable locking dif in the rear. I've not noticed mine click but I guess it could in your situation. The Macan will also brake a spinning wheel, which sounds like ABS clicking.

Yes, PTV Plus included. Good suggestion that it could also be the ABS clicking.
