Well, there is a survey on this forum and it shows MOST participating customers have some kind of software issues, those who don't are in the minority ;)
https://www.macanevowners.com/forum...-issues-you-have-had-with-your-vehicle.23243/
129 participants in this poll which contains misleading questions and repetitions. frankly i do not understand the concept of this questions. i am shure you do not understand it either. fact is that 21 of 129 participants did have ever a more or less serious issue with the car. just read the questions / answers again please.

it has to be remembered that not even half of the participants have a 2025 car. no information if the problem has been fixed. in relation to 12000 members not even 2% reported an serious issue. i am absolutely sure that any other brand, especially in the first year after launch, has more problems.

Maybe the truth is that all cars are buggy these days, because car manufacturers are really bad at software.

My previous Audi GT also had similar glitches.

Previous new cars I've bought (Volvo, Volkswagen) have not had any of those, but have had fewer "fancy" features, and was longer ago.

I think the truth is that the Macan EV really *does* have software glitches, that are built into the car, and everybody will see them, but they're "glitches" enough that most people ignore them or are OK re-starting the car to temporarily cure them.

That's true, I had many serious software issues but most if not all of them have been solved. I think it was due to MY2024 with its early version of the software which was fixed in the following upgrades.

To be honest with you my case was an extreme one but they managed to solve all issues but one which is not related to software (suspension alignment, keeps going off after many attempts to fix). This is the only reason I'm switching the car (not software), just waiting before pulling the trigger for a chance to drive the GTS.

Also I don't get the appeal of big screens, I think Porsche UX and screen size is a very good balance and the UX itself is also very good, does not distract from driving and you don't get this "tablet on wheels" car. So it depends on what you expect and can contribute to many peoples' experiences, it you expect something like a Tesla of a new BMW you will be disappointed. Would be nice though if they manage to get rid of small bug/annoyances which there are still many but nothing critical IMO.

On the other hand Taycan is a good example of how software is not at all relevant - it's so fun to drive this car you simply do not care, at all, that software has this very old car vibe with laggy small screen and 30 sec wait time for the nav to plan a route. It's like with this older 911 you mentioned. This is not why you drive these cars. And overall Taycan provides way way more fun compared to Macan which has a much better software. So make of it what you will but I think software as important as it is, it's not the primary factor to judge a car.
