For nearly two years now I’ve had random instances where on start, my phone would connect to carplay but no audio source (carplay spotify, apple music, radio) would result in sound. I’ve had every software upgrade and most components (bar the control module) replaced. On the most recent instance of this, where the lack of audio persisted after several restarts of the vehicle and soft-resets of the PCM, I got a phone call and was able to have a normal conversation. This gave me pause…it clearly wasn’t an amp or cabling issue so it might be a processing problem. So I went into the bose settings and selected “stereo” in lieu of “surround” and turned off the variable volume options. Viola, music. Since then I haven’t had the issue again, so this wasn’t precisely a controlled test.

I’m also sending this over to my service department but thought it might be helpful for this group.

I’ve had exactly the same issue and have also noticed that a phone call will nearly always fix it (there was one case it did not, but there was something else happening at the same time so I’m not convinced it was the same underlying issue).
I’d not tried changing audio processing though as a sole fix and will definitely do so now and report back next time (if I remember- my memory lately is utter crap).

Thank you! I'm glad to hear someone else has experienced this.

This has happened to me several times and only began after a recent software update. In fact, as I drove away from the dealer, I noticed there was no audio from any source. I turned around and went back, where they tried the usual fixes, including a reboot. When they couldn't get the audio working, I left the car there, and they reinstalled the software, which seemed to fix the glitch.

Since then, the same thing has occurred randomly every few weeks. Most of the time it resolves itself after the car is turned off and sits for a while — however, at least once it took two or three restarts before the audio returned. The dealer claims they have "never seen this before" and suggested I schedule another software reinstall to see if it resolves the issue. I'll try your suggestions next time it happens.

After software updates in early May, I had the no audio problem for the first time ever a couple of weeks ago. I only have the standard audio - no upgrades.

Nothing I did made it work again until the car had been left for a couple of hours. Very odd driving with no radio, no sat nav directions, no driver aids & no indicator noises.

As this is undoubtedly a safety issue, I expect there will be another software fix along soon.

Bullshit on the dealer. This issue has been well described and Porsche is aware. They released a software update back in January or December (I think I hit it in December as an “early” update) that was supposed to have included a fix for most of the issues (it was the big update that had lots of fixes in it).
Anyway, you’re not crazy!

Thanks for the information. I have had the no-audio issue on my Bose every couple of months since I got the car in 2024. However when it happens to me, the Bose menu does not even load. I can tap the Bose icon, then it just shows an empty screen without any tabs or items to select. Power cycling the amp does not fix the issue for me, I just need to let the car sit there for a while. I have always had the Bose configured as Stereo but I will disable any other processing just in case!

I have had this same audio issues as OP, but after getting SQ4 installed I have not had the issue. they already had me booked in to replace the AMP, about 2 weeks after the SQ4 update, and they proceeded with that, and at the time updated to SQ5. Still no issues with audio other than at times my XM radio will not start playing until I go into the XM menu, and manual hit play then it works. I have completed about 4000km since the SQ5 update, and this is the only 'issue' remaining for audio (other than maybe a DC charging issue, not sure if the DC charger itself or the car yet).

I had before SQ4 update, tried turning off surround, and back to stereo, along with 'play song from start when switching channels' feature. None of these user settings worked. I had the ability in one such failed state to have the dealer plug in the diag tools and scan for errors with the stereo in the state, and there were no codes either.

I am about 95% certain that SQ4 and newer fixed the issue, and it's not likely the amp replacement did anything to help as it seemed resolved after SQ4/before amp and stay 'fixed' with SQ5 and amp replacement.

@gianteli have you had your software updates done to at least SQ4? Seems like people really don't like getting the updates done, but honestly the SQ5 was a very positive development for the drivability of this Macan EV.

if you have not had it done, I would get SQ5 done and then monitor.
