@pm4s — don’t count out the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires if you haven’t yet tried them. I ran a set on my g body 911 and found them to outperform (and outlast) the continental extreme contact summer tires they replaced. They came standard on our Macan 4 and, while we have far too few miles on it to comment on their durability, they sure are fun to drive on (and have double the treadwear numbers of their summer-only brethren) As an added bonus, they also deliver in sub-freezing cold, where my summer-only tires turn to rocks. About the only thing they weren't very good at was actual “winter condition“ driving – they sucked in the snow . .

i got 5k out of the bridgestone summer tires, swapped at 6k but they were way bald. swapped to michelin ps4 all season, slightly less ultimate grip but about the same. hoping to get at least 10k out of the michelin all seasons.

My Macan 4 came fitted with Michelin Pilot Sports 255/45 R21 (front) and 295/40 R21 (rear). The car has covered 7600 miles and whilst the front tyres still has plenty of tread, The rear recently had to be changed as they were only just legal! I contacted Porsche UK and their response was "whilst the wear you have experienced is slightly abnormal, it is not considered uncommon". The sales guy conveniently forgot to tell me that you need to purchase a new set of rear tyres every year!!!

Beyond how we drive, the biggest determinant of tread life will be whether we choose summer tires or all season tires. Tread wear ratings show that all season tires generally should last 2x the summer tires, regardless of brand.
