A good thwack - rebooting PCM occasionally…

as with all computer systems a good solid reboot/restart fixes a multitude of niddily issues - in my 2024 Macan Turbo EV I'm finding that if I reboot the PCM once/twice a month - things just go smoother - fewer faults and bugs from my impression…

hold the volume knob (center console) down for 30+ seconds - and let the PCM reboot - and it behaves so much better for me in the few days/weeks…

just sharing my observations.

The central screen in my brand new Macan 4 went dark on day 3, embarrassingly, right as I was embarking on a 2-hour drive with friends. We made the drive without music or directions, due to the glitch. I Googled and learned about the center volume button reset fix. No issues in about a week since I tried it. It does seem like rebooting a confused PC.

I agree this is good advice.
Feature request: Enable Porsche owners achieve the same effect as detaching the 12v for a few seconds (a hard/full reboot) via a simple button.

After two weeks mine needed a thwack! Started off with no sound from CarPlay, tried rebooting while driving, rebooted, InnoDrive then swerved toward oncoming traffic (grabbed before crossed double yellow), error message popped up saying limited features available (something like that), InnoDrive still working, still no sound, got to my parent's house, came back outside a 20min later and the car alarm went off as I approached, left it alone again, came back a few hours later and did the reboot while parked, and now seems good. See ya next month!

Do you think this fix the occasional won't start quicker than closing the doors, lock the car, go for a walk, return and unlock and be on your way? I would hate to hold up an EA station line when the car just would not start.

Just had my first "High-voltage System Error". Finally went through my Porsche EV right of passage! I actually just ignored it and drove away with it on... I did forget something back at my house so I turned around about 5min later and decided I'd do the reset in my garage. Hit the power button first then did the press and hold until the screen went blank. Good as new!
