In the UK you would have to think very carefully before using after market programmers as the insurers require a declaration that the car has not been modified in any way. If you were to declare a mod I dread to think what the cost would be. Porsche UK have even said having a non-Porsche tracker...
tommjw. Got my email today saying my 4S is built and on its way. The map in the app shows the car shipping from Emden to I think Sheppey. Strange thing is though, the App says itās coming by lorry not using a ship. I think the map may be correct !
The UK Porsche Newsroom published details of the light systems on all four models. This details the functions of the standard LEDās and the Matrix system. My reading of it indicates the UK / European spec May be higher than the US one. The whole article is here -...
I followed your link to your car in the configurator. See the screenshots - I scrolled down to the Summary - screen 1. I then tapped on Standard Equipment (just above technical data) screen 2. Then scroll down to Assistance Systems and itās in there. Hope this helps.
It would be interesting if the UK drivers think the same. There is a thread on here about cars being recalled in the US to have the lights adjusted as they may have contravened US regulations as they were set for European market.
If that does happen then Mr Trumps philosophy works. I suspect that Mr Musk will move heaven and hell to prevent it as he will lose the major advantage Tesla have with subsidies / tax relief. Will be interesting to see
If you select the Standard Equipment at the bottom of the summary page on your configurator youāll see they are standard. It confirms

Iām sure you probably want to keep the car but if Porsche are not taking the issue seriously, you could remind them that under UK law if within the first 30 days the car is unfit or unsatisfactory then you can return and get a full refund, irrespective of what Porsche or the dealer have buried...
As Germany & France really make the rules in the EU, I see a real possibility of there being a serious tariff war - EU slapping even more large tariffs on Chinese and all imported cars to try to protect their car industries. Musk and BMW are ironically taking the EU to court over the existing...
I spoke to Porsche Customer Service in the UK today. They said that whilst having a non-Porsche tracker fitted or dashcam wouldnāt invalidate the warranty, any electrical issue may be said to stem from the non-Porsche equipment and then the warranty wouldnāt cover the issue.
I think that whilst...
If they charge £ 900 to fit with prewiring what would they charge without it !
Iāve just done a quick search and back in 2017 Porsche Reading was found to be the most expensive dealer, charging Ā£ 234 /hr
Mine is Colchester. I asked the sales guy about getting a copy of the very detailed tracking sheet. He said that I am afraid we are under strict instruction not to share this with customers. If his centre / centre principle were aware he was sharing this he would be in a rather sticky situation.
Where did you get that from - did the dealer provide it. My only source of info is the App and itās certainly not that detailed. Have you asked for collection mid-March as the car looks to be sat at the dealers for a month.
In Europe and the UK the law states. A speedo must never show less than the actual speed, and must never show more than 110% of actual speed + 6.25mph. So at say 70 mph, it can never be less but could be so inaccurate it could comply by reading 7 + 6.25 + 70=83.25 !
To ensure that they comply...
I had excellent front & rear cameras fitted by a Lexus dealer with no pre-wiring and it cost £ 450 for them to supply & install. I mention this as Lexus dealers certainly know how to charge.
I think our cars will be shipped together. My next āstepā is on the way and thatās the 30th to the 2nd Feb and the spread between the dates has narrowed
in the same way I don't like how the electric logos on the front fenders cannot be deleted. I don't want to necessarily announce to the world that I drive an electric car and isn't it obvious enough that it's a Porsche? I will leave the rear light strip logo black and first order of business...
tonmjw - my 4S has gone into production today - 5 days early. Have you or the company buying the car recād an email confirming your car has achieved one of the āstepsā
