I have found, if you are using it wirelessly, that other devices that may also use Wifi (dashcam, radar detector, whatever) would interfere with the signal from the car to connect with my phone. Using it wired or disabling the WiFi on as many of the other devices as I could fixed it.

Interestingly, I’ve had the same issue intermittently with the drivers side mirror. Essentially identical. It has not occurred in a few weeks and I would say it has only occurred after the mirrors were folded in for some reason (so I’ve stopped doing that at all).

I did it exactly the same way. The problem comes with my dash cam as it needs power when the vehicle is off. I have been unable to find a place to install it easily as when I asked Porsche about how others were doing it, the replied that if I try to do it, I will be voiding my entire warranty!
