Both my low range estimate and losing SoC while parked were fixed after rebalancing. And DC charging speed as well. The car stopped acting weird overall.
I will now make it a habit once every thousand miles to discharge the battery to 20% and let it sit overnight then charge up and let it sit...
I have seen that and I had a direct message with him. Based on what I know so far I would still try the rebalancing before I head to the dealer. It is a simple procedure and it might save you lots of headaches.
Do they have evidence the module was defective or are they just replacing random parts?
Anyway, it sounds like you will be on lemon law territory if they don't fix it properly.
I hope it helps. Make sure when you charge up to 90+% for the rebalancing you actually reach that SoC. My car stopped charging at 86% even though my target was 95%. I had to unplug and re-plug to continue.
Check what I did to rebalance my battery here https://www.macanevowners.com/forum/threads/very-slow-dc-charging.22212/post-333824
It solved some of the issues you described and also my very slow DC charging.
Btw if you have the Car Scanner app and an OBD2 Bluetooth dongle you can see the...
The procedure is something I read in a Taycan TSB and which was saying to charge to at least 90%, so I did 95%. Then the magic happens while it is unplugged. You have to leave the car unplugged and undisturbed for at least 6.5 hours.
I suspect that the Porsche chooses to discharge the highest...
It is actually 0.02V i.e. 20mVolts, which is about 2-3% imbalance. Internet wisdom suggests the Taycan BMS triggers rebalance if it detects 2% cell difference.
At 60% SoC the imbalance was 0.69v highest vs 0.68v lowest cell. After I charged to 75% it is 0.73v highest vs 0.72v lowest. Down to...
My arrival SoC is set at 10% so that is not the issue. I also check the route plan and there is no charging stop. See my previous video where I chose a destination only 1.8miles away, still same issue.
Here is another video that shows the crazy arrival SoC without any charging stops or any nearby chargers. I just set a destination two miles away to test. My SoC was 57% and the car estimated I will arrive at 82%!!! No intermediate stop.
It shows there is a EA DC charger on the way but the navigation does not route to it and why would it even make a charging stop when I can get to my destination with >60%.
Btw, same problem even if there is no DC charger on the way or nearby.
My Navigation believes I will arrive at my destination with +24% SoC than my current SoC. When I started the trip my SOC was under 70% so I have no idea how PCM comes up with this crazy eatimate. This new software bug started yesterday, until then the estimate was more realistic. PCM reset or...
I don't understand why you get agitated by the comparison of the macan to another car. I just share my opinion. I have nothing to prove to you but here is a photo I just took so that you can see that I actually own a Turbo and the EV6GT just behind it on my driveway. I also owned other Porsches...
If your Lane Change Assist throws a yellow warning try to close and open the side mirrors. LCA needs a known mirror position which is learned by this simple process. This is very similar to learning the window positions.
it worked for me.
There is a TSB about this but I don't have the link...
Yes the range is around 210miles but works for me. The Macan seats and the interior is overall better. The air suspension is also better but the EV6 GT suspension is adjustable. It is very harsh on GT mode but quite good at normal mode where it feels similar to Sport mode of Turbo. I have an...
The Kia throttle response is much more responsive than the Turbo. The Kia is like being at launch control mode the whole time and feels amazing. It is also lighter and feels more nimble around the corners.
You can test drive one if you want more data.. Just hit the green button to set it in GT...
I know that many forum members will disagree, but to me the best driving EV SUVs in the market today are the KIA EV6 GT and the Ioniq 5N.
I own an EV6Gt and it feels faster, more responsive and more nimble than my Macan Turbo. And the software and everything works fine every time. I understand...
I got 5 round pin stoppers from Amazon for $5 https://a.co/d/ga081xQ
It needs a little extra effort to install compared to the part shared above and it is harder to move after the installation but it works just fine for me.
Right now, after "rebalancing", all cells are between 0.71v and 0.73v at 80% SoC and 25C temperature. That looks pretty balanced to me. If you can get data from your car, it would be nice to compare.
Before the rebalancing some cells were at 0.2v. Still that does not immediately explain why the...
