I want to thank @OutofSpecDave for taking the time to try and make a video about the rubber stoppers and paper towel fixes on his Macan EV, that unfortunately did not fix his issue. Now hopefully, his dealer visit will resolve the issue with detailed explanation of the fix and parts involved. I...
As we covered this issue before, a paper towel around the hinge stops the rattle as a temp solution. I would just use electrical tape around the hinge to tighten latch grip to see if that helps. I do not think dealers will have a solution for this, if adjusting rubber stoppers does not solve the...
I wonder if you could expand on why you think 2025 Taycan battery tech is superior to Macan EV. I have all the tech materials and there is no apparent superiority of the HV battery in the Taycan. For example, Macan EV actually has the split battery feature charging at 400V stations, but 2025...
This is by design if you SoC is below 25%.
Common complaint with Macan EV or Taycan that you cannot simply set a time period for charging to occur. Porsche decided that you need an emergency buffer of at least 25% when you plug in before any other charging logic is considered.
I guess I am not following what this feature is about. Is this related to the Radio or Nav generated Traffic Notices.
Nav Generated Traffic Notices are here:
Navigation screen then Settings (gear icon), scroll to the bottom:
Mute Nav by pressing on the Speaker button:
Then there is a dedicated Navigation Announcement setting.
Hit the Settings (Gear) on the screen above.
Scroll down to Nav Settings:
Then go to Nav Announcement Volume:
The lock has electronic and mechanical opening phases. I suspect the electronic portion is not working properly or broken. Usually, the electronic opening is initiated when pulling on the inside door lever lightly but then if you pull more, mechanical opener is initiated required by law.
Let's look at AU configurator to find the answer.
AU configurator clearly shows that Innodrive is not an option and since Porsche only packages ALK with Innodrive from factory, there is no ALK functionality available in the country for Macan EV.
I agree. This is a very common confusion on both Macan EV and 2025 Taycan. However, this is how it is explained and labeled in the configurator but not in the interface or the manual. No such confusion with pre-facelifted Taycans. I have all these options properly labeled and available for...
^, this is exactly how it works on a Porsche @msandford, Macan EV, Taycan, whatever...
LKA is sometimes called a ping pong feature and works exactly as you described
ALK only comes with InnoDrive and keeps you in the center of the lane
I know dealers go to very nice training sessions, but they...
This is common when PDI techs overinflate the tires on cars intended to stand on the lot as standard procedure. They did it for one of my cars on delivery without realizing it and I called it right away as I got into it to drive to the PPF shop. The lesson is to check your tire type/size setting...
I would say that something is not right then. Bedding brake pads and rotors is needed from new and expected. Then there should be no regen after a period of non-use (overnight) so the pads and rotors get used before regen kicks in.
I would ask if you could take pictures of your rotors to see...
To be fair, there has not been any recent reports of the red SOS button holding up deliveries of new Taycans. This was a persistent issue for some time, but resolvable within a reasonable amount of time. This case is unacceptable with no help from Germany or PCNA. I think the local dealership is...
The battery generates heat during discharge or recharge via regen, as one of the recommendations for the cold weather to warm up the battery quicker for DC charging is to use the yo-yo effect. I do not have Macan EV but the next time I get one for a drive, I will try to see if yo-yo will move...
@daveo4EV, this is great context and yes we should trust the battery management to do its thing.
However, I ran into a situation where I did not agree with what battery management was doing during a DC charging session. The good news there are some settings to make it behave differently next time.
I drove a RWD, 4, and 4S for a day each in different temps and noted the same HV battery behavior that is as you state is different from the Taycan. I know that the battery chemistry is different but not so different that it is efficient at what appears to be way too low of operating...
I have not driven a Turbo yet, but based on reviews it is obvious that Turbo is fast in normal driving.
However, I driven a RWD, 4, and 4S and all of them are pretty tame in Launch Control mode.
Launch Control is fun to use but most do not use it.
