I visited my dealer just now asking about tariffs and they let me know that tariffs are paid by PCNA with no delays in getting them out of the local port (Baltimore for us). I was surprised to see a large delivery batch that they just had as in to say, deliveries are happening, and customer does...
100% agree with others, summer tires will not work in cold temps.
Another option is a dedicated winter wheel/tire set. This way you can keep your original summer wheel/tire set and just swap them when needed. I do that on my SUVs and get the best of both summer performance (21-inch set) and...
That is the only thing you can do as the early adopter gang. I cannot make a leap for it, as it would drive me up the wall, but I keep trying to get the dealer to give me one to drive every chance I get. They have been very nice to let me drive them and charge me top dollar for Taycan service.
Same experience for me. I have driven now 4 Macan EV loaners in difference configs and disappointment does not describe it for fit/finish and harshness of ride that is anything but sporty. I made my last trip yesterday in a Macan EV RWD with 21 inch tires and it drove just like the others, like...
Excellent feedback for anyone wanting the prototype - well noted.
I did my due diligence and it was a hard no with too many things not able to live with in Macan EV.
Result - loving almost a classic by now, second Macan, which is the latest GTS.
Macan EV has absolutely no comparison to the...
Yes, that is by design. The car always starts in Normal to which you cannot assign Sport Sound On.
The point we are trying to make is that you have to either turn it on manually when in Normal or you have to flip it to Sport or Sport Plus with Sport Sound On setting saved in these modes.
This is how Porsche has designed it to work on all cars including ICE. Electric Sport Sound or Sport Exhaust Sound must be turned on manually or assigned to a driving mode that is not a default Normal mode.
I do not believe this is correct.
85F-90F is more optimal for fast DC charging rather than normal driving conditions when the battery discharges during use or charges via regen. The temperature that is more optimal for that is in a 68F-77F. However, the reason that the battery does not heat up...
FOD program is only available for 2020-2024 Taycans only with ACC to add Innodrive and/or ALK.
Macan EV or new 2025 Taycans are not supported as this program has not been renewed.
I have pondered this issue and I think the work around is to use the Limiter function. The way the Limiter works is that it limits top speed as traditional Cruise would be, but I have not tested it. One creative application of the Limiter function is going down a long hill road where the car...
You cannot take this review seriously when someone uses summer tires on 22-inch wheels to make handling claims in 0C-5C weather. No system can overcome frozen summer compound tires in these conditions.
You are absolutely right. Taycan has Display SoC value shown and actual SoC with about 5% difference between the two (based on OBD data), meaning that Taycan has a pretty good buffer that Macan EV does not have. Therefore, it would be totally fine to drop SoC to 5% as part of the procedure and...
I am doing it every 5k miles and as a result after each rebalance I see a 2% increase in SoH. The reason for that is that the car reports SoH and Range based on the worst cell in the pack. Therefore, although this may not be a real increase in SoH and Range it keeps the cells balanced and...
Lots of science and discussion around this.
Overall theme: The battery will outlive the car. Let the BMS manage it and do not worry about it, and if anything goes wrong then the battery warranty will cover it including intermediate degradation levels.
However, if you want to maximize the...
Great review. I think you are missing out on the fun of Launch Control try it once and it may grow on you like the Sport Sound. Actually, it is very controlled and smooth in the 4S, so you will not be actually launching yourself.
One of the most basic unspoken rules, to never let dealer wash your car.
It does not matter how it looks, let them do the minimum required to complete the PDI.
Then take it directly to the PPF/Ceramic shop to be properly handled for cleaning, paint correction, PPF and ceramic coating. However...
