  1. European Matrix Lights: some thoughts

HD on Taycan is 32000+ pixels per headlight, Macan is 84 pixels per headlight. Yes matrix on Macan is crap but better than nothing. HD on the Taycan is 2x the price of the Macan Matrix so we are not short changed, Taycan is a class above so the higher price point comes with more goodies.
  2. A Warning for Cold Weather and Low Batteries

Interesting about the car dying at 9% did not know that. I haven’t tried it but I always assumed that even at 0% it would give you something under 10 miles at crawling speed (as safety to make it to the hard shoulder or a turn off). Obviously cold weather kills the battery, my phone, camera...
  3. Both manual charge flaps not opening - Macan4

Can explain in detail the procedure to someone that hasn’t seen it; i.e. insert 2 plastic levers top & bottom towards the the front side of the flap, pry open, pull out, etc. etc.
  4. [ADVICE REQUEST] 2026 Macan EV Build-Out

Cost is 1.1K, several items listed, I copied the 2 of interest: 1st sounds like my Innodrive, car does 100% steering on highway, zero input from driver, you need at least 1 hand touching the steering, this is no iX3 2nd sounds like travel assist in iD3, you indicate and the car will overtake...
  5. Wheel Dilemma

I went for the design wheels which are a closed/aero/ev design. This is my 3rd EV and have gone closed design in all, now that I am older as well. Closed diamond cut black wheels are my preference, I only have to clean the outside and the silver means the alloys don’t look like steelies from a...
  6. [ADVICE REQUEST] 2026 Macan EV Build-Out

This makes me happy as both the demo and my car had the insulated glass and without a reference to compare to, I was beginning to doubt my decision. Sexy options you can see like wheels, paint, leather, etc. are easy to justify, “boring” stuff like insulated glass a bit harder.
  7. [ADVICE REQUEST] 2026 Macan EV Build-Out

Stunning although I think unless I missed it you are missing the best option on my Macan which is innodrive, the car completely steers itself on the highway just by resting a hand on the steering (bottom let’s say). On the MY26 I believe it’s call drive assist or something and does even more...
  8. Bose Sound Pack - Opinions

I have owned for many years Bose, HK & B&O. I have auditioned but not owned Meridian & ML. For reference the ML system was the best but even though every system sounds completely different I could live with all of them and be 100% happy. The Bose in the Macan EV only betters one of my cars for...
  9. Bose Sound Pack - Opinions

The base is 150w vs. 710w Bose, Burmester is 1470w. Common sense says all things being equal more is better. I went with the Bose as I could not afford the Burmester and relying on my Bose Boxster experience I was stupid enough not to test it during the test drive, dealer obvious to the...
  10. Manual charging door not opening

It’s worth a try, continuously applying pressure with your hand where you would normally press the charge port door to open while at the same time locking/unlocking the vehicle. May take a couple of tries but sometimes the actuator gets jammed in a position while locking and it cannot...
  11. Bose Sound Pack - Opinions

Unbelievable thank you, although I would not want to show my face if I designed that :CWL:
  12. Bose Sound Pack - Opinions

I agree with the above, I find the Bose in the Macan EV shockingly bad, it is easily the worst optioned system I have heard I my life. Although systems from HK, B&O, Meridian, ML sounded better than the Bose in my Boxster, I loved that system and was satisfied 100% with it. Satisfaction with...
  13. So called Driver Aid

The car clearly cut in front of the Merc as it was driving on the wrong side of the road, taking pictures. The delay in the system is the same you see when using Adaptive cruise control. If a car cuts in front of me the last minute the gap closes significantly before the car realizes this (too...
  14. So called Driver Aid

ADAS works for children as well as adults. In the case of children it is even more sensitive as children behave erratically, run in all directions, jump, etc. ADAS also works for infants, so you can be crawling on the ground, sitting, jumping from/under a parked car, etc. AEB detected a face...
  15. So called Driver Aid

This would not have happened with the Macan as it mowed down the pedestrian emerging behind parked cars (1:55): I have seen other cars slam on the anchors and manage to stop. I believe this is what happened to the merc, the camera car with a man strapped in the boot facing the merc suddenly cut...
