I will perform a test and report back! Although despite there being approx ~10C difference in starting temp prior to pre-conditioning - even in August it still had to heat the battery from 20 to 30C. In November its 10 to 30C.
Conversely I find winter is better for rapid charging as the car...
Digital key is baked into the PPE platform, e.g. Audi Q6, A6. It was part of the Macan update roadmap long ago:
The £60k base Q6 has it, ergo all Macans with comfort access have the hardware installed too.
Audi have been the guinea pigs before being released to Porsche. It had a LOT of bugs...
In support of the above and against previous posters saying preconditioning isn't worth it:
If the start SOC was the same the difference would be maybe 17 minutes saved? At the cost of 2kWh, 80p. Without preconditioning the ENTIRE charging curve is derated: ideally you pre-condition and plug...
For those of us with Andersen chargers they have now added compatibility with IOG. All chargers Including A2 from 2023->on.
I used to have IOG control the car instead of the charger, and as as we all know, it is super unreliable and will charge the car outside of the arranged off-peak slots...
Great to hear, I've had the same experience but very infrequently need to override it. I just put the tardiness down to generally all high beam assist systems being a bit pants.
Now if you told me they lowered the high beam activation speed from 38mph, I would book the update immediately!
When you say switching to stronger beams, is that while dimming for oncoming cars? I've not got the update myself yet.
I've noticed while it's dimming segments for oncoming cars the strength of the otherwise lit segments is much lower than when the road is clear - then all zones fire up and the...
Hmm, I think some things get lost in translation in these German to English articles. They throw in passenger compartment, but then directly contradict themselves saying the heater "directly heats HV components"
This article is written like it was explained to them in English and puts it to bed...
It's hard to find anything definitive and have been trying to piece it together, would love to see a schematic! These exist for the Taycan but not for Macan. However we know some things:
The IPB (under the rear seats) has a PTC heater in it solely for heating the battery/motor coolant. When...
I think this lines up with the new MY26 feature change from "Innodrive with Active Lane Keeping" to "Drive Assist".
"Follows the lane independently" - Drive Assist will allow hands off driving?
Innodrive already has very good lane keeping so I assume it was just missing the attention sensor...
Just to add to this I noticed the behaviour of the 12V charging logic while wiring up a dashcam:
After operational readiness is turned off, 12V remains powered at 14.4V, so the HV battery is still charging the 12V battery. After 30 mins this turns off and drops to whatever the 12V battery...
It's the heat pump (AC compressor in reverse)
So if the outside is below freezing it can take some bit of time to get fully up to temperature, I would say no more than 1 minute though on mine - 5 minutes seems excessive!
I was wondering if it would be worth also coating the lower headlight/main beam lenses to lessen the dirt buildup as they are mounted low down and, unlike the Q6, do not have headlight washers fitted.
I find after a few hours motorway driving the lenses are completely fogged with grime and the...
I agree it's misleading to sell it as draught-free and am in the process of complaining higher up in Porsche about this.
The idea being if you forget to precondition, maybe you don't know there has been a frost then you have to sit in the car with the blowers on max - ok it works but it's not a...
I noticed that too, I believe the GTS has improved battery cooling being better suited to track driving.
What this does mean though is that VR28.13 is not that big an update and there will be more to come with MY26 rollout.
