I've had my lovely Macan 4 for just under a month, and over the past week it's developed an annoying, noticeable squeak when I manoeuvre at low speeds (such as when driving around a car park, doing a 3-point turn on my drive, or when doing tight turns into or out of a junction). It doesn't need to be at full lock to do this. However, it doesn't occur during normal driving. The squeak seems to be created by some sort of friction within the steering wheel assembly, or steering column.

I've been into other Porsche fora, and it seems to be 'a thing' with other models.

Has anyone else in this forum experienced anything similar?

Mine does this too. I think it‘s the Powersteering Plus (option code 1N3) that I chose and that makes manouvering at low speeds much easier.
Do you have this option too? Then this might be the reason.

Hi,
In fact I do not have this option.
(I'm having the issue checked out next month, and will report back.)

I have the same squeakyness at very low speeds, only during turns. I also have this Powersteering Plus option which I had to take (no idea why) because of the rear axle steering which I'm an absolute fan of.

I also have the squeaky steering wheel. Did you ask the Dealer about it? Thanks in advance.

I never asked the dealer about it because I totally forgot about it. And the reason I totally forgot about it must be because it no longer squeakes. Funny how that works, when it's there it's annoying but when it goes away I don't even notice it went away.

Same thing. Summer came, and the squeak all but disappeared.
It's still there, but so much quieter that it's no longer really annoying.

Thanks to both of you for your replies. I will ignore it also until I need to go in for something else. I love the car!

PSP is a software switch so highly unlikely this is the reason.

I've had PSP and various Porsches and my current ones don't squeak (not did the others).
