Should You Buy The Porsche Taycan Innodrive Function?

Interesting this and worth considering.
Although he talks about Taycan's Innodrive, but I guess same applies to Macan.
My SA recommended Innodrive not needed as I have ACC and Lane Keep Assist, and that should serve the purpose.
I am glad I agreed. It serves me well.

The innodrive in macan is significantly better over what you get in the Taycan but its not perfect. See the link above to daveo4EV's experience and how it compares to other porsche models.

InnoDrive option includes ALK that most expect to be standard and it is not a substitute to ACC and LKA.

I just took a 1k mile trip out of town, in a Taycan, and while InnoDrive not very useful when you tell it not to obey speed limits, ALK was really nice by self steering and doing very good job at it. Also, I noticed that ALK felt smoother when InnoDrive is selected instead of ACC.

LKA is useful by making a frog buzz when you are getting too close to the lane markers.

Coming from FSD on Tesla for years, literally don't want to drive a car that can't keep a lane by itself on highway drives. Lane changing also is a huge plus. It makes long trips 1000x better.

Now whether innodrive is as good as Tesla, probably not exactly, but based on reports, the version in Macan is at the useful stage, so I definitely got it, and would not have bought the Macan if it didn't have it.

Hopefully they will continue to progress and update it as it goes.

But this feature will become more and more important to people as they experience it and like what I found, it becomes part of "how you drive" to the point where it is weird to be on the highway without a system handling the lanes for me.
