I am the owner of a Macan EV 4S and recently experienced an issue where both the driver and passenger screens stopped working. After 4–5 days, they suddenly started functioning again without any intervention. Porsche informed me that a software network update to version VR28.13 is required.
Has anyone else encountered the same problem?

I ran into a similar situation where I started the car and witnessed a blank center screen. It only happened once without my intervention (in over a year and a half of ownership). I also experienced the same situation when I did a PCM reset (holding the volume button) and did not wait long enough for it to complete (when the display returns while continuing to hold the button). I took the car to the dealer and they just parked it for about 10 minutes with the keys far enough away for it to complete what they call a "lock and walk".

A "lock and walk" possibly also resolved your blank screen issue.

I have a Faraday container which prevents thieves from boosting the key fob signal and stealing the car. It achieves the same result as having the keys far away from the car.

Just another one of its "quirks and features"!

I've never had any success with the PCM reset, but also have never held it until the screen came back (only held for 30 sec). I'll try that next time!

"Lock and walk" has been the only thing that's resolved my various issues.

Yeah. I only waited long enough for the screen to go blank, but not until it came back. The screen stayed blank until my "lock and walk" at the dealership. At least they saw the issue before it resolved itself. I had a successful PCM reset after that and am waiting to see if that resolves my navigation estimate issues. It seems better, but time will tell.

However, it would be nice if the car really arrived at destinations with higher charging percent than the departure. No more range concerns ;). I would understand if the charging planner inserted a charging stop, but that did not happen.

This actually happened to me on delivery! I get in to leave and the screen is blank. I try a few things. Nothing. I go back inside and my sales guy is like oh that's no problem let fix that and it's probably because you have both keys on you. Nothing. He calls over the "Porsche Genius" guy who goes over the tech and he can't do it either. So they're in panic mode. They say they have to take it to the shop and by the time they drove it in the screen came back online. Thankfully, that's never happened since. The worst I get these days (besides temporary drive assist system failures) is the music audio goes away for the duration of my current trip, but that's only happened 4 times since August.

I got this 3 times after the update, did not get it before, annoying to say the least.
Gut feeling says update messed it up.
Problem is PCM reset does nothing to bring it back, have to stop, lock the car, walk away so the car sleeps, restart. Porsche "quality" is not what is used to be:CWL:
I always wanted to time the car when it sleeps (you hear the HV contactor opening) and see if it can sleep with the key near it but never got around to it.

That's why I've been putting off the update! Too bad Porsche/VW used CARIAD for the software. Probably won't get any of that future Rivian software :(

The Macan is based on Android and not the in-house VW architecture.
I knew it was Android Automotive (not Auto), but assumed the PCM app was written by CARIAD, which I see was only for the fist gen Taycans. Porsche has no excuse then!

Konstantine the built date of your car is post or prior August-September 2025?Post that date all Macan got the latest 28.13 software installed right from the factory. To get it from Porsche dealership your car must be a "candidate" for the update.Mine was built 18/09/2025 and when around mid November I asked my Porsche dealership about it they looked up my VIN number in their systems and told me 28.13 software update wasn't applicable to my car as it's already installed.
