We’d like to hear from the community about road trip experiences.

🌄 If you were planning a road trip and could choose two U.S. states, which would you recommend and why?
We’re especially interested in routes that stand out for driving experience, scenery, or overall practicality.

We’d also appreciate any vehicle preparation or maintenance advice for longer trips, such as:

  • Items you always check or service before departure
  • Small details that are often overlooked but matter on the road
  • Lessons learned from past trips that you’d recommend others keep in mind

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.

small detail: put the TESLA charging adapter and a NACS to CCS level 2 adapter in the FRONK - not under the floor of the boot- to make it easier to get when you have luggage in the back. Also carry window cleaner and rags there.

This is a great idea. Sometimes people have to look for a place to charge their devices, which is inconvenient and a waste of time.

When roadtripping when it’s cold, I make sure my battery is nice and warm, above 20C as this increases capacity, lowers consumption and makes the pre conditioning to your DC charger quicker and spent less to no energy … effect for me is about 15 to 30 minutes less wasted time … This is not always possible and so make sure you start the PCM nav as soon as you enter car, even if you know the directions. If your battery is around 0C and outdoor it is cold it takes around 1 hour to get optimal charging temperature of 25C …

The pre heating hack I use is DC fast charge the night before to 70% and top up with AC charging to 100% at departure time so the heat you gained during DC charging is maintained …
